Synopsis

What makes a life truly wealthy?

In a world that equates wealth with money, titles, and possessions, we often miss the deeper truth: being rich is not the same as being wealthy. True wealth is measured not just in digits, but in purpose, relationships, health, resilience, and the legacy we leave behind.

In this inspiring and practical guide, Dr Patricia Murugami introduces the Eight Capitals Framework—a fresh perspective on what it means to live a life of wholeness and impact. From Spiritual Capital that grounds your values, to Social Capital that strengthens your relationships, to Moral Capital that anchors your character, these eight interconnected currencies help you build a life that is not only successful but deeply significant.

Written in 2025—a Jubilee Year of Hope—this book is an invitation to reset, refocus, and rebuild. No matter where you are on your journey, these timeless principles will guide you toward a life that is grounded, generous, wise, and whole.

True wealth is not found in what you own, but in who you become.

Understanding sociopathy in relationships is essential for recognizing and protecting yourself from emotional and psychological harm. Sociopaths, also known as individuals with Antisocial Personality Disorder, often exhibit a pattern of manipulation, deceit, and a lack of empathy. They can be charming, persuasive, and seemingly perfect at first, making it difficult to identify their true nature until significant damage has been done. Dating a sociopath can leave a person feeling confused, drained, and emotionally broken. The signs are often subtle at the beginning but become increasingly apparent as the relationship progresses.

Sociopaths thrive on control, often using charm to gain trust before revealing their darker tendencies. Their relationships are not based on genuine love or connection but rather on dominance and personal gain. They have an uncanny ability to read people, identifying vulnerabilities and using them to manipulate emotions. What may start as an exciting and passionate romance can quickly turn into a toxic and draining experience. The cycle of idealization, devaluation, and eventual discard leaves their partners questioning their own reality.

Recognizing the signs of sociopathy early in a relationship can help prevent long-term emotional trauma. Sociopaths lack the ability to form real emotional bonds, making their relationships superficial and self-serving. Their actions are often calculated, and their words are designed to elicit specific reactions. They may lie compulsively, gaslight their partners into doubting their own perceptions, and shift blame to avoid accountability. Over time, their behavior escalates, leaving their victims feeling trapped and emotionally depleted.

'I'm okay!' The bestselling author of The Anti-Cool Girl returns with a devastating, heartbreaking, brilliant, brave and laugh-out-loud funny memoir of telling lies and being on the brink...

'I had made it! All my dreams had come true. I had an operating fridge, I was doing brilliantly, and I had written the memoir to prove it. I even had online haters. I had conquered life at 30 and nothing was ever going to go wrong again!' It was all going so well for Rosie Waterland. Until it wasn't. Until, shockingly, something awful happened and Rosie went into agonising free fall. Until late one evening she found herself in a hospital emergency bed, trembling and hooked to a drip. Over the course of that long, painful night, she kept thinking about how ironic it was, that right in the middle of writing a book about lies, she'd ended up telling the most significant lie of all.A raw, beautiful, sad, shocking - and very, very funny - memoir of all the lies we tell others and the lies we tell ourselves.
    Praise for The Anti-Cool Girl:
'Hilarious, wise, gutsy, clear-eyed, devastating and uplifting. It's a marvel.' Richard Glover
'Waterland's writing is ... individual, wounded, brilliant and hilarious' Sydney Morning Herald
'If Augusten Burroughs and Lena Dunham abandoned their child in an Australian housing estate, she'd write this heartbreaking, hilarious book.' Dominic Knight, The Chaser
The Anti-Cool Girl was shortlisted for the 2016 Indie Book Awards and for the 2016 ABIA Awards for Biography of the Year, and in addition was the Winner of the 2016 ABIA Awards People's Choice for the Matt Richell Award for New Writer of the Year

The main idea for the production of this book came after I realized how the beliefs of others were constantly causing me to lose money and delay my life in achieving my goals, even causing me to fail in businesses I had just started.
Realizing this was extremely frustrating, but also difficult to control for a variety of reasons, including the fact that we cannot always identify who these people are, and even if we do, we may not be able to remove them from our lives.
The only way to solve this problem effectively is to create a system that can rearrange the various patterns of our existence at once by focusing on only one area, preferably of a material nature, as is the case with money.
The content presented here is based on the premise that if our thoughts interfere with our destiny, then the thoughts of others, operating by default, can have a greater influence on that destiny.
Have you ever noticed how happy some people are when you fail, as if they expected it, or how sympathetic some people seem when you are poor?
They are the same ones who resent your happiness and abundance when you become successful later in life, and then claim the most absurd things to prove that you are unworthy of what you are getting, while finding excuses to remove themselves from your reality.
This social paradigm is so obvious that there had to be another one that contradicted this common behavior. I found it and later decided to create a system to help me apply it.
After seeing immediate results manifest in my own life, even as I was writing this book - due to the fact that I was reading the exercises in my mind while preparing the content - I concluded that the application of this system would be very useful for my readers.
