Synopsis

In the vast expanse of human experience, time stands as an enigma, a captivating mystery that has perplexed and fascinated minds for millennia. "The Whimsical Hourglass" embarks on an introspective journey, delving into the depths of time's multifaceted relationship with humanity.

Through the evocative imagery of the hourglass, we embark on a voyage of self-discovery, exploring the profound significance of time in shaping our perceptions, dictating our actions, and leaving an indelible mark on our collective consciousness. The hourglass, with its graceful descent of sand, serves as a poignant reminder of time's fleeting nature, inviting us to savor each precious moment with heightened awareness and gratitude.

As we journey through the chapters of this book, we unravel the tapestry of time, examining its philosophical paradoxes and existential quandaries. We ponder the nature of time's arrow, questioning its linearity and immutability. We explore the origins of time, delving into the mysteries of cosmic beginnings and the vastness of eternity.

We investigate the intricate interplay between time and human nature, uncovering how our perception of time shapes our behaviors, decisions, and aspirations. We examine the psychological and emotional impact of time's passage, exploring themes of nostalgia, regret, and the relentless pursuit of fulfillment.

Art, in its myriad forms, becomes a canvas upon which time's essence is captured and immortalized. We traverse the realms of music, literature, and visual arts, uncovering the ways in which artists have harnessed their creative powers to transcend the boundaries of time.

Finally, we embark on a spiritual odyssey, exploring the sacredness of time and its profound connection to the divine. We contemplate the cyclical nature of life and death, seeking solace and understanding in the face of time's relentless march. We delve into ancient wisdom traditions and spiritual practices that offer insights into the nature of time and eternity.

"The Whimsical Hourglass" is an invitation to ponder the enigmas of time, to embrace its fleeting beauty, and to harness its transformative power. Through this exploration, we gain a deeper appreciation for the gift of existence, recognizing that each grain of sand, each tick of the clock, holds infinite potential for growth, connection, and the creation of enduring legacies that transcend the boundaries of time.

On January 20, 1981, Reagan began his first presidential inauguration address by thanking Carter for his “gracious cooperation in the transition process”.
Reagan notes “one of the worst sustained inflations in our national history. It distorts our economic decisions, penalizes thrift, and crushes the struggling young and the fixed-income elderly alike.” “In this present crisis, government is not the solution to our problem; government is the problem.”
“For decades we have piled deficit upon deficit, mortgaging our future and our children's future for the temporary convenience of the present.” “It is my intention to curb the size and influence of the Federal establishment and to demand recognition of the distinction between the powers granted to the Federal Government and those reserved to the States or to the people.”
“If we look to the answer as to why for so many years we achieved so much, prospered as no other people on Earth, it was because here in this land we unleashed the energy and individual genius of man to a greater extent than has ever been done before.” “It is time to reawaken this industrial giant, to get government back within its means, and to lighten our punitive tax burden.”
“As for the enemies of freedom, … [w]e will maintain sufficient strength to prevail if need be, knowing that if we do so we have the best chance of never having to use that strength.”
“[T]ogether with God's help we can and will resolve the problems which now confront us. And after all, why shouldn't we believe that? We are Americans. God bless you, and thank you.

The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success: A Practical Guide to the Fulfillment of Your Dreams by Deepak Chopra

    About
The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success is a classic book by Deepak Chopra. Chopra has a way of taking deep spiritual concepts and simplifying them, offering you just the right metaphors and examples to help you grasp the ideas. And because of how easy it is to understand (relative to most spiritual texts) and apply the principles outlined by Chopra, practically anyone can learn from the Big Ideas in this book. The main idea behind the book is to develop a symbiotic relationship between spiritual success + financial success… the idea that the two don’t jive well with one another is often the cause of either moral or financial distress for a lot of people. Hopefully, this summary can help shed light on how important it is to marry these two types of success—spiritual as well as financial.

The world of mankind is changing. Terminology is changing, adapting, evolving and being created. Nothing in society is changing more than gender terminology and almost nothing is causing more division.

It is changing what previous generations deemed to be unacceptable. Indeed much of what is now accepted and even promoted would have once placed millions in prison and worse. It was not so long ago that one of the world's greatest minds, Alan Turin, was chemically castrated for being gay. The man helped us to rid the world of the Nazi scourge and yet he ended his life in misery because of a society that saw him as disgusting.

Generations argue with each other today over the same issues and more. Today we argue about whether somebody who claims to feel to be a member of the opposite sex should be allowed in their toilets and changing rooms. The right wing traditionalists are aghast at the very idea. And yet today's youth seem to accept it easily. The difference is upbringing and influence. There is now a bewildering array of titles, names and designations to understand. From LGBTQ, gay, homosexual, transsexual, transgender and gender fluid to MtF, FtM, pangender, agender and tranvestism. There is little wonder that the previous generation is having difficulty understanding just what is happening, especially when we consider that even those within these categories argue about definitions.

In this book we are going to lift the veil on the world of the Transgender and reveal the secrets of a world most misunderstand.

China has always fascinated outsiders, much in the same way that distant light fascinates someone looking down a dark road. It is both familiar and mysterious, ancient and new, and fully understanding it seems to always remain just out of reach. From the Great Wall to the ancient teachings of Confucius, China’s natural and man-made wonders have been topics of interest among Westerners since the Middle Ages and the pursuit of trade routes both by land and sea, amazing Marco Polo and 19th century British expeditions in similar ways despite the passage of several centuries between them.
The Great Wall of China is perhaps the wonder of the world that has most captured the human imagination, and as the quotes about it indicate, the wall has acquired special significance even outside of China. The places and ways in which it has taken hold vary greatly, but one thing is certain: the Great Wall of China is as amazing as it is mysterious, and it’s as mundane as it is magical. Naturally, the Wall has become the most recognizable symbol of China, used for both aggrandizement and criticism. Nationalists see it as a symbol of China's peaceful nature, engineering capability, and historic longevity, while detractors see the Wall as the embodiment of China's backwardness, closed-mindedness, and hubris. Though the wall can symbolize all of these things about China, it is important to remember that the many long walls. upon some of which the current landmark was constructed, were put up by specific people for specific purposes.
People across the world were excited when it was revealed in 1974 that archaeologists had uncovered a new and amazing find: an underground army consisting of thousands of clay soldiers, still standing at their posts despite being over 2,000 years old. In addition to the remarkable feats of craftsmanship and the size and scale of the Terracotta Army, modern people could not quite wrap their minds around.

"What makes this book special is the richness of the illustrations of how symptoms of illness embody concrete events in a family and how family constellations can bring this to light with a respect that allows symptoms to recede and disappear. As far as I am aware, this has never before been identified and illustrated so clearly. This book is a first class pioneering effort. Alongside new insights, it also details the concrete steps that have led to new and often surprising resolutions."

    Bert Hellinger

When a machine is out of order, we look for the broken part and attempt repairs. When something goes awry with the human mind, body and spirit, we need to look with a more holistic view for solutions. This book presents the experiences of a physician and psychotherapist who has gone far beyond the 'parts repair' approach to medical treatment to look not only at the whole person, but also the entire family system using the method of family constellations.

The book is comprised of two parts. The first is a basic explanation of the approach, which was first developed by Bert Hellinger. In the second part of the book, practical applications of the method are documented in a wide variety of case studies. Illness and symptoms are viewed in the context of larger systems, and constellations are used to identify disturbances and restore a more health-supporting order.

This report on the method of family constellations is a fascinating trip through theory and practice that offers a new concept of healing for lay readers as well as professionals.
    The Authors:
Ilse Kutschera, M. D., born in Vienna, Austria in 1936, studied medicine in Graz. She worked as a physician until 1998, when she retired from her position as head of a rehabilitation clinic to devote her time to her private psychotherapy practice. During her career, she had developed a keen interest in psychotherapy and trained in various approaches including primal therapy, transactional analysis, gestalt therapy, NLP and Bert Hellinger's constellation work. This book is an expression of her interest in integrating psychotherapy and classical medicine.
Christine Brugger, born in Germany in 1962, is head of a radio station in the East Tyrol in Austria. Through her friendship with Dr Kutschera, she became interested in writing about constellation work in the medical field. The book is the result of many interviews, discussions and recorded case histories.
