Synopsis

In the heart of New York City, a notorious drug gang known as the Wild Cowboys held the city in its iron grip, spreading fear and despair wherever they went. But a beacon of hope emerged in the form of the Homicide Investigation Unit (HIU), a group of seasoned detectives determined to bring down the gang and restore peace to the city.

Led by the brilliant and unorthodox Walter Arsenault, the HIU embarked on a relentless pursuit of justice, facing danger and adversity at every turn. The Wild Cowboys were a formidable foe, with a network of informants and a ruthless determination to protect their turf. But the HIU detectives refused to be deterred. They delved deep into the gang's operations, gathering intelligence, building cases, and forming alliances with those who dared to stand against the Wild Cowboys.

As the investigation progressed, the HIU uncovered a web of corruption that extended far beyond the gang's own ranks. Politicians, law enforcement officials, and even members of the community were implicated, all benefiting from the Wild Cowboys' illicit activities. The HIU found themselves fighting not only against the gang but also against a system that seemed determined to protect it.

Yet, amidst the darkness, the HIU's unwavering commitment to justice shone through. They refused to be silenced, even when their lives were on the line. They fought for the voiceless, for the victims who had suffered at the hands of the Wild Cowboys. And slowly but surely, they began to turn the tide.

Blood, Sweat, and Bullets is a gripping narrative that reads like a crime thriller, telling the story of the HIU's relentless pursuit of justice and the ultimate downfall of the Wild Cowboys. It is a tale of courage, determination, and the power of ordinary people to make a difference in the face of overwhelming odds.

This book is a must-read for fans of true crime, law enforcement stories, and tales of triumph over adversity. It is a story that will stay with you long after you finish reading it.

A fully revised and updated edition of Nigel Lawson's extraordinary autobiography. A key minister for a full decade and Chancellor of the Exchequer, from 1983 to 1989, Nigel Lawson was one of the most powerful and effective of Margaret Thatcher's colleagues, and among the chief architects of Thatcherism. This abridged edition of Lord Lawson's memoirs - first published as The View from No.11 in 1992 and acclaimed as one of the best political memoirs of the period - goes straight to the heart of economic policy-making at a time of crisis and creative change. It explains the workings of government with candour, clarity and depth, against the backdrop of the remarkable story of the rise and fall of his political collaboration with Margaret Thatcher, productive and successful for many years, but ending with his dramatic resignation in October 1989.The book includes a new final chapter reflecting on events from the perspective of 2010, also discussing the crisis in the banking sector and global warming.

For much of American history, women were second-class citizens in the sense they could not vote or run for office and had few property rights. However, women were often able to overcome social restrictions and forcefully affect the world around them, sometimes nationally. This took a real force of character, determination, and sometimes bravery.
Women were discouraged from becoming involved in politics, and the majority of American men thought women belonged in the home. As the 1800s progressed, American women became more and more significant in changing their country for the better. This meant that women gravitated toward causes society thought were appropriate for women, which were those merging family issues and Christianity, both of which allowed women to organize and form local and national organizations. Women active in these causes were not subject to censure.
The most important cause allowing women to overcome Victorian expectations of being ladylike was temperance, which eventually resulted in the Prohibition era. Prohibition had several elements, but it was focused on pushing for making the manufacture, sale, and possession of alcohol illegal and convincing individuals to swear off alcohol.

Charles Manson rose to infamy in 1969 with the orchestration of seven gruesome murders in Los Angeles, California. What shocked the world even more than the heinous acts themselves was the fact that Manson did not personally commit any of the murders. Instead, he wielded an eerie control over a group of devoted followers known as the Manson Family, convincing them to carry out his evil bidding.
"Charles Manson Anarchy" delves deep into the twisted psyche of one of America's most notorious cult leaders. This compelling narrative dissects Manson's manipulative and cunning nature, revealing how his early proclivities for crime and manipulation evolved into a full-blown psychopathy characterized by narcissism, sadism, and a complete lack of empathy.
The book vividly depicts the 1960s counter-culture, a turbulent social and political upheaval era. This period, marked by psychedelic drug use, sexual exploration, and communal living, provided the perfect breeding ground for Manson's sinister machinations. He expertly exploited the era's ideals, using psychedelic drugs to control his followers and twisting the concept of sexual freedom into a tool for manipulation and abuse.
Through meticulous research and psychological analysis, "Charles Manson Anarchy" uncovers how Manson's environment enabled his rise to power. The free love and communal ethos of the time allowed him to amass a following he could bend to his will. Without the unique backdrop of the 1960s, Manson might never have been able to exert such deadly influence.
This book is not just a recounting of crimes but a profound exploration of how a malignant personality can twist societal values to serve its dark purposes. "Charles Manson Anarchy" is essential reading for anyone seeking to understand the mind of a psychopath and the cultural context that can foster such dangerous influence.

A hilarious personal account from within the walls of the asylum.
Unbelievably true stories that will make you laugh out loud while wincing at the shocking detail. This book will leave you wondering how society can be so seriously messed up, and how collective minds have malfunctioned. Not just for those with mental disorders, but those supposedly treating the afflicted.
This is definitely not a recruitment advert for mental health nursing.
This is a hard-hitting reality show. As the author says, “It’s a warts and all” account — meaning not just the warts but also the halitosis, the skid marks, and more. A pig wearing lipstick is still a pig; you cannot sugarcoat reality.
Your jaw will drop often, but it will be exercised with laughter throughout.

I wrote this book because I wanted the world to know the story of my special needs son Lloyd C. Darby lll. Affectionately known as DJ, which stands for Darby Junior. When people triumph over their circumstances as my wife and I have, there are usually hidden lessons others can benefit from contained within the events. However, if we don’t share our stories with the world, no one will ever hear about them. That’s why it is so important to share our successes, and failures, to let others know they are not alone. Rather, a part of a bigger picture that is so significant, their message alone has the power to set people free. Whether through books, video, television, or the radio, we must communicate our thoughts and promote ideas and principles that produce a better society for all people. Due to the painful memories, and recreating various parts of my true story, I needed to make this book simple to understand. It is my sincere effort that this information can be absorbed quickly and to the point.
