Sinossi

In the heart of the wild, where nature's symphony echoes through ancient forests and rugged mountains, lies a transformative journey of self-discovery and connection. This book invites readers to embark on an extraordinary adventure into the untamed wilderness, a realm of raw beauty, profound wisdom, and unexpected challenges.

As we venture beyond the familiar boundaries of civilization, we encounter the untamed spirit of nature, a force that tests our limits, ignites our resilience, and reveals our hidden strengths. Through encounters with majestic creatures, breathtaking landscapes, and the unpredictable forces of the elements, we discover a language beyond words, a connection that transcends the limitations of human speech.

The wild becomes our sanctuary, a place where we shed the masks of society and embrace our authentic selves. In the solitude of nature's embrace, we find moments of profound reflection, gaining a deeper understanding of our purpose and place in the vast tapestry of life. The challenges we face in the wilderness mirror the struggles we encounter in our own lives, providing opportunities for growth, transformation, and the realization of our fullest potential.

This book is a testament to the enduring bond between humanity and nature, a bond that has the power to heal, inspire, and transform. It is a call to reconnect with the wild places within and around us, to embrace the wisdom of the natural world, and to become responsible stewards of the planet we call home.

With vivid imagery and thought-provoking insights, this book captures the essence of the wild, inviting readers to embark on a journey that will leave them forever changed. It is a celebration of the untamed spirit, a reminder of our interconnectedness with all living things, and a call to action for the preservation of our precious natural heritage.

Join the adventure, embrace the call of the wild, and discover the profound wisdom that awaits in the heart of nature.

Life is messy, brutal, hilarious, and breathtaking-and it's easy to forget how much love we need to survive it. This manifesto is a bold reminder. Y'akoto writes with raw honesty, dark humor, and unapologetic truth, pulling from her own journey as an artist, outsider, and fighter for self-acceptance.
The World Needs More Love is not a self-help manual. It's a creative manifesto. A call to arms. A book that speaks to everyone who has ever felt out of place, broken, or exhausted-and still chooses to love life anyway.
Through sharp insights and fearless storytelling, Y'akoto dismantles illusions about money, confidence, family, friendship, solitude, and survival. She reveals how love-toward yourself, toward others, toward the simple act of being alive-can be the most radical form of resistance in a world that thrives on fear and distraction.
If you've ever craved a book that feels like talking to a brutally honest friend over a glass of wine, this is it.
    Daring. Reflective. Unfiltered.
This is your reminder that staying in love with life is the most rebellious thing you can do.

Marty, age 57, was given a preliminary diagnosis of ALS by his family doctor. Seven weeks later, the diagnosis was confirmed by a neurologist. Ten months and ten days later, Marty passed away.
From day one, Alison, Marty’s spouse of over twenty-five years, kept a journal as a way to navigate the overwhelming state of her mind and soul. Soon the rawness of her words harmonized to tell the story of Marty’s diagnosis, illness, and decline. Her journal became a chronicle of caregiving as well as an emotional exploration of the tensions between the intuitive and the pragmatic, the logical and illogical, and the all-consuming demands of being both spouse and nurse. Divided into short pieces, some of which reads as free verse, Alison’s words are at times profoundly intense and painfully private.
The composition of the intricate notes of a life in its final movements includes another stanza of the journal that became Dance Me to the End: the guiding of children grappling with the imminent loss of a parent, and the shifting roles of family, friends, and community—all of which add their own complex rhythms.
Dance Me to the End is an evocative memoir about the emotional impact of witnessing a loved one suffer from a neurological, degenerative, and terminal disease. This is a detailed account of grief, shock and pain coexisting with the levity, laughter and love shared with her husband and sons in those final months of Marty's life.

A stunning memoir of one man's search for his birth parents, which uncovered an astonishing global scandal at the heart of the Catholic Church.
When Brendan Watkins was eight years old, his parents told him he was adopted. In his late twenties, he discovered the identity of his birth mother - a woman who had been a Catholic nun when he was born - but she wanted nothing to do with him. For thirty years he only managed limited communication with her, and had no clues to the identity of his birth father.
In 2018, a DNA test led him to the truth: he was the son of a celebrated missionary priest. His father had studied in a Trappist monastery in Ireland, had a career as a builder, was a Bondi Lifesaver, a trophy-winning ballroom dancer, was a landscape painter, a fine chocolate maker, met Mother Teresa and toured the world.
An astounding story had been uncovered which simply had to be told. After decades of searching, Brendan Watkins had discovered that his birth parents were a Catholic priest and a nun. Tell No One explores the questions, anxieties and reflections arising from this hidden past.

""We will not think or talk about mental health or normalcy the same after reading this momentous art object moonlighting as a colossal collection of essays.”     —Kiese Laymon, author of Heavy
From her early childhood in Nigeria through her adolescence in Oklahoma, Bassey Ikpi lived with a tumult of emotions, cycling between extreme euphoria and deep depression—sometimes within the course of a single day. By the time she was in her early twenties, Bassey was a spoken word artist and traveling with HBO's Def Poetry Jam, channeling her life into art. But beneath the façade of the confident performer, Bassey's mental health was in a precipitous decline, culminating in a breakdown that resulted in hospitalization and a diagnosis of Bipolar II.
In I'm Telling the Truth, But I'm Lying, Bassey Ikpi breaks open our understanding of mental health by giving us intimate access to her own. Exploring shame, confusion, medication, and family in the process, Bassey looks at how mental health impacts every aspect of our lives—how we appear to others, and more importantly to ourselves—and challenges our preconception about what it means to be ""normal.""  Viscerally raw and honest, the result is an exploration of the stories we tell ourselves to make sense of who we are—and the ways, as honest as we try to be, each of these stories can also be a lie.
