Synopsis

The Inferiority Complex of Old Sippy is a short comic story in which P. G. Wodehouse does what he does best: placing a perfectly ordinary sense of self-importance in a situation it cannot survive.
Nothing here is urgent. No one behaves heroically. Feelings are handled with restraint, misunderstandings with efficiency, and confidence with surprising consequences. Events unfold politely, and dignity exits early.
The prose is light, the pace unhurried, and the outcome inevitable in the most satisfying way. Everything is resolved without effort, explanation, or emotional excess.
