Synopsis

"A collection of short stories, some funny, with twist endings. O.Henry's style is witty, but sometimes difficult to understand. He often introduces his stories with his view on American history and society, which is not always easy to understand for the modern reader. The stories are inventive and creative. A nice discovery." - Paul Groos

Graeme Edge was born on 30th March 1941 in Rochester, Staffordshire. His mother was a pianist for the silent movies and his father, grandfather and great-grandfather were all music-hall singers.Edge trained as a draughtsman but soon went into music full time. He never started out to be a drummer, he was, in fact the manager of a group called the Blue Rhythm Band. Graeme always watched the drummer in the group and fooled around on the drums, but never really drummed professionally until that drummer quit and he had to fill in. He then bought his first drum kit.The first band he formed was the Silhouettes followed by The Blue Rhythm Band. He then helped to form Gerry Levene and the Avengers, who recorded a single for Decca, and appeared on TV in "Thank Your Lucky Stars". Following the collapse of this group in April 1964 Edge formed The R & B Preachers, which included Denny Laine and Clint Warwick. When that group disbanded the three of them linked up with Ray Thomas and Mike Pinder to form The M & B 5, which later changed its name to The Moody Blues.During the Moodies' break in recording and touring, Graeme released his first solo album KICK OFF YOUR MUDDY BOOTS in 1975. He became particularly enamored with the salsa, calypso, samba, and reggae beats when he visited the Caribbean during his ocean-going voyage round the world in his 70ft yacht. Graeme drums with a precision beat while spicing the Moodies' sound with a wide range of percussion instruments. When away from the spotlight he lists his hobbies as sailing, golf, war films and sci-fi - Edge was a confirmed TrekkieProduced by Macc KayProduction executive Avalon GiulianoICON Intern Eden Garret Giuliano©2021 Eden Garret Giuliano (P) 2021 Eden Garret GiulianoGeoffrey Giuliano is the author of over thirty internationally bestselling biographies, including the London Sunday Times bestseller 'Blackbird: The Life and Times of Paul McCartney' and 'Dark Horse:

William Blake was an English poet, painter, and printmaker who lived during the late 18th and early 19th centuries. Born on November 28, 1757, in London, England, Blake displayed artistic and poetic talent from an early age. Despite facing financial difficulties and limited formal education, he developed into one of the most visionary and unconventional figures of the Romantic era.
Blake's artistic endeavors spanned both visual arts and literature. As a poet, he is renowned for his innovative and symbolic verse, often exploring themes of spirituality, imagination, and the human experience. His most famous collection of poems is "Songs of Innocence and Experience," where he contrasts the idyllic world of innocence with the harsh realities of experience. Notable poems from this collection include "The Lamb" and "The Tyger."

In addition to his poetic achievements, Blake was a skilled and imaginative visual artist. He was a self-taught engraver, producing intricate and highly symbolic illustrations for his own works. His method of "illuminated printing" involved both text and illustrations being etched onto copper plates, allowing for a seamless integration of words and images. Some of his other notable works include "The Marriage of Heaven and Hell" and prophetic books like "The Book of Urizen" and "The Four Zoas."

One of Blake's distinctive features was his unorthodox spiritual and philosophical beliefs. He was deeply critical of organized religion and the conventional morality of his time. Blake developed a personal mythology incorporating mystical and visionary elements, often challenging traditional Christian doctrines.

“Donald Gregg’s career . . . would make a great spy novel. This autobiography makes an even better book.” —Tim Weiner, Pulitzer Prize–winning reporter and bestselling author of Enemies

Pot Shards is a memoir, based on the author’s unforgettable experiences. He served as a CIA agent on the island of Saipan, during ten years in Japan, and a tour in Burma. He then spent four years tied up in the Vietnam War, two tours in Korea, the second time as ambassador, and spent ten years in the White House, where he worked for Jimmy Carter, Ronald Reagan, and George H. W. Bush.

“Don Gregg is that authentic and admirable thing: a great American. He spent most of his life serving his country: in the CIA, at the White House and as a US ambassador. He has stories to tell, many of them gripping, and they are beautifully and movingly recollected here in this memoir of a splendid life.” —Christopher Buckley

“A personal witness to decades of largely hidden intelligence and diplomatic history, Donald Gregg recounts his unlikely and amazing career as a CIA officer, national security advisor, and US diplomat. His adventures and insider knowledge of US relations with East Asian nations over many decades make for a lively narrative, entertaining for the general reader and useful for serious scholars alike. Through it all, Ambassador Gregg expresses a natural warmth and concern for humanity that makes his story a truly personal journey.” —Nicholas Dujmovic, PhD, CIA Staff Historian, Center for the Study of Intelligence
