Synopsis

Slow Down is a guided relaxation sound escape that comprises spoken voice, instrumentation and sound effects. The piece has been recorded and mixed using spatial audio techniques that allows sounds to be moved in a spherical sound field around the listener. Adding movements to some sound elements can give the brain additional attentional anchors to latch on to. This can create deeper immersion and thus the potential for deeper relaxation. The piece was created by the author as a major work in a Masters in Creative Industry. Headphones are the best listening medium to appreciate the spatial movement of the sounds however they are not essential. The piece is geared towards assisting the listener to a place of calm and sleep with voice, musical elements and nature sounds guiding the way.
