Synopsis

HH Bhakti Charu Swami - In his own words

There are currently some 70 persons claiming to be gurus in the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON, or the Hare Krishna Movement) - successors to the original guru and founder, His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada.

Out of all of these, His Holiness Bhakti Charu Swami is considered one of the most successful, respected and scholarly. Given this, and the fact that all ISKCON gurus were authorised via the same GBC* system, a detailed examination of the life and teachings of Bhakti Charu Swami as an ISKCON GBC-elected guru will simultaneously provide an evaluation of the whole ISKCON guru system.

This examination will be undertaken solely by studying the words and actions of Bhakti Charu Swami, and simply letting them speak for themselves. In this way, what follows cannot be disputed as simply being someone’s subjective opinion about Bhakti Charu Swami. Rather, this will simply be Bhakti Charu Swami’s opinion of himself, thus rendering it beyond argument.

Since this book is Bhakti Charu Swami himself presenting his own life and teachings in his own words, it can thus be considered as an “autobiography” of  this ISKCON guru.

* Governing Body Commission“Yes, devotees need a qualified spiritual master and I will say in ISKCON we have the most qualified spiritual master who is Srila Prabhupada. [...] In ISKCON who is the ultimate spiritual master? You need a spiritual master, but who is that spiritual master? It is Srila Prabhupada.”- HH Bhakti Charu Swami

“You are all my disciples and I am your spiritual master and if we don’t make it a point to develop that relationship it won’t happen. I am your spiritual master and we have a very important relationship. As your spiritual master I am like your father, I am like your friend.”- HH Bhakti Charu Swami

We take our memory for granted. Dementia will steal it in ways most of us could never imagine.
Winter Solstice by Diana Howard burrows deep into the heart-rending poetic journey of a daughter trying to love and help her mother who is slowly losing her memory.
Through poems and vignettes written over a period of 15 years, the reader will enter a world of denial, confusion, shame, fear, humor, sacrifice, patience and love - finding solace and empathy with an experience many of us go through, yet struggle to find words to describe.

Francis Bacon said: “If a man will begin with certainties, he shall end in doubts; but if he will be content to begin with doubts, he shall end in certainties.”

This book is about the ultimate question. There is nothing that has been pondered more by mankind and nothing more divisive. Is there a God?

We divide ourselves into groups because of the different answers we have created. Many misunderstand or create concepts of what God actually means and believe it to be the one defined by Christians, Jews or Muslims. And yet, many, when pushed with some profound philosophical questions about the origin of the universe have no answer, other than we came from nothing.

Did we come from the mind of a creator, or from absolutely nothing? These are our stark choices. To have faith and believe. To deny all and accept existence from nothing. Or to accept we still do not know. What are you?

Late in 1944, thirteen U.S. B-24 bomber crews bailed from their cabins over the Yugoslavian wilderness. Bloodied and disoriented after a harrowing strike against the Third Reich, the pilots took refuge with the Partisan underground. But the Americans were far from safe. Holed up in a village barely able to feed its citizens, encircled by Nazis, and left abandoned after a team of British secret agents failed to secure their escape, the airmen were left with little choice. It was either flee or be killed.

Out of Place Artifacts is a fascinating subject. There are too many of these unusual objects for them to be fakes. I’ve already written several books on this subject including “Strange Objects Which Should Not Exist”, “More Out of Place Objects”, and “A 300 Million Year Old Civilization Existed on Earth”.
In this book I’ve compiled everything I could find out about these unusual finds from my prior three books and additional research. 54 artifacts are covered in detail.
I’ve included all of this information except that specifically related to Aliens and UFOs since that information is in my books on those topics.
The information here is presented in five parts:
Part A: Artifacts Found in Historical Times
Part B: Very Ancient Objects to Millions of Years Old
Part C: A Civilization 300 Million Years Ago
Part D: Human Footprints in Rock
Part E: Artifacts of Undetermined Ages
I hope you find all of this information as interesting as I do since it changes our understanding of the history of our planet in incredible ways.

    The Roman Catholic Bishops of...

Since the reviving of the dioceses in 1850, Bishops of Hexham and Newcastle ostensibly all had the same “job” to do: to lead and care for their diocese – teaching, sanctifying and governing. But each brought a different background and personality to this task; each had his own strengths and weaknesses, and each approached the task in a slightly different way. This book chronicles the lives of the bishops from the indefatigable founding Bishop William Hogarth to Bishop Robert Byrne.

Some of the men were scholars; some had a passion for education and established schools, and some were noted for their pastoral zeal or their ministry to young people. Some guided the diocese through times of great change and some consolidated and steadied the ship. One was appointed rather against his will and resigned, and another uniquely combined the task of bishop with rector of the former diocesan seminary at Ushaw. In this book, Paul Severn narrates the lives of these fascinating men, and thereby tells the story of the evolution and development of the diocese over some 170 years.
