Summary

Bedtime Stories For Kids-Short Bedtime Stories Series

Do you want to make your child fall asleep faster at night?

Do you want your child to learn mindfulness while reading beautiful short stories?

In this book, you will find a collection of stories written to help children enter a place of dreams and eventually drift off to sleep. These stories are intended to stir their imaginations in such a way that the transition from fantasy and adventure into dreamland will be a seamless one. Best of all, your children will be able to get a good night’s sleep and wake up feeling refreshed and happy.

The chapters are designed to take you and your family on an exciting adventure through different situations, laden with imagination and surprises, while also attempting to disseminate valuable lessons about important principles, such as family, home, wrongdoing, and numerous other themes.

While each story is unique, the underlying purpose of each remains the same: to confer on readers some degree of insight into moral behaviour and proper conduct. Through the careful application of allegory, the stories contained herein are intended not only to engage and captivate but also to serve as thought-provoking tools by which your children might avail themselves of one of mankind’s most powerful attributes: thoughtfulness and self-reflection.

In addition, each story uses colourful and imaginative characters, settings, and situations to create an environment that will not only help children become interested in the story itself but also serve as a vehicle to convey a moral lesson.

Plus, the stories in this book seek to create traditions and memories that will create everlasting moments that your children will treasure for the rest of their lives. These are the kind of moments that your children will surely love to share with their children someday, too.

So, let’s jump right in and take a trip into a magical world from which your children will drift off in their sleep.

Don’t be surprised if they don’t want to wake up after having such beautiful dreams. Dreamland is a cherished place for children of all ages. After all, it is a place where kids can truly let their imaginations flourish.

“I got a letter!” said Fíasól happily, taking a closer look. “It says:
To the amazing and fantastic Fíasól at 8 Green Grove, Grasby.
Thank you for being you! Coolest, coolest, coolest of them all!”
“You’ve got to be joking!” said Pippa. “What halfwit sends something like that?”
Fíasól looked at her sister in indignation.
“Halfwit? A letter like this is definitely not written by a halfwit.”
Fíasól opened the envelope and drew out a long letter and a number of drawings.
“Well, blow me,” she said in surprise. “This must be from a famous artist.”
“Read us the letter,” Pippa said impatiently.
     Fíasól read:
“Dear Fíasól, I’ve been meaning to write you many letters to tell you what fun you are and so clever. Here are some pictures of you that I drew. I hope you like them. I’m very good at drawing, just like you. Best of all I like playing with you and I’m so glad to be able to be with you every day. I am always going to wake up with you in the morning and go to sleep with you in the evening and take good care of you all my life.
I shall also look after you when others are horrible to you, and I’ll take your side. I’ll tell Pippa off if she winds you up and I’ll help you to tidy up the frightful dump when your mum says you have to. I’ll always be your best friend.
Your oldest and best and funniest and coolest of all the friends in the whole wide world, Fíasól who is the coolest.”
Pippa stared at her sister in indignation.
“Did you write a letter to yourself?”
“Yeah, and so what? Does it matter who writes you a letter? Getting a letter now and then is the main thing, isn’t it? And they have to be fun letters, that you can be bothered to read.”

After she's hit by lightning at a wedding, twelve-year-old Lilah Bloom develops a new talent: she can hear dead people. Among them, there's her overopinionated Bubby Dora; a prissy fashion designer; and an approval-seeking clown who livens up a séance. With Bubby Dora leading the way, these and other sweetly imperfect ghosts haunt Lilah through seventh grade, and help her face her one big fear: talking to-and possibly going to the seventh-grade dance with-her crush, Andrew Finkel.
"In a fresh, frank and funny first-person voice, Lilah tells of her ghostly encounters from the perspective of a normal Jewish girl coping with abnormal powers. Droll middle school drama." - Kirkus
"All the ups and downs are portrayed with honesty and wonderful humor. Middle school girls are sure to relate and will probably see themselves somewhere in this story. Purchase is recommended. Look for the next title from this talented first-time author, as it is sure to be eagerly awaited by readers." Reviewer: Sylvia Firth - Children's Literature
"[SMALL MEDIUM AT LARGE] is tightly-written and fast-paced, the dialogue is clever and funny, and the story flows well. While there are some discussions of kissing and dating, there is nothing in it to make it inappropriate for a fifth-or sixth grade girl, and Small Medium at Large is a perfect read for every girl who is struggling or has ever struggled to fit in. Highly Recommended." - CM Magazine

History is made one brave act at a time.

Henny has grown up with her father’s boat, the Gerda III, as a home away from home. She loves sailing the waters between Denmark and Sweden, carried along by the salt breeze. But when Nazi rule tightens in Copenhagen, Henny joins the resistance. And when Hitler orders the Gestapo to round up all Jewish citizens, Henny realizes that the Gerda III isn’t just a boat—it’s a means of escape for her Jewish neighbours. Safety and freedom are just across the channel in Sweden—as long as Henny doesn’t get caught.

The fourth book in Kathy Kacer’s Heroes Quartet series, Call Across the Sea brings to life a little-known part of World War II and highlights the unsung acts of heroism that moved history forward.
