Synopsis

Ethan never thought a dating app would change his life. He downloaded HeartLink Beta out of boredom just another quiet night in his too-still apartment, hoping for distraction. Instead, the app matched him with Kael, a man who swore he was from another realm.

Kael isn’t joking. He’s a scholar from Aeryndor, a world of twin moons, whispering books, and subtle magic. To him, Ethan is proof that Earth exists, and the strange glitch linking their worlds is more than random chance. Their first messages are clumsy, their first meeting impossible, yet every exchange pulls them closer.

But the connection is fragile. Portals rip open in the wrong places, councils demand explanations, and the app itself threatens to “fix” their match. Ethan fears losing the only person who truly sees him, while Kael risks exile for choosing love that crosses worlds.

Can two men caught between realities hold on before the link that bound them unravels?

Part of the Otherworldly Hearts series, this story brings its own magical twist to love and laughter.

Otherworldly Hearts proves romance can bloom anywhere through time, across magic, even out among the stars. This clean MM romcom series pairs oddball characters with laugh-out-loud disasters and tender connections in worlds where the impossible feels almost ordinary.

Spells backfire, ghosts meddle, shifters wrestle instincts they’d rather ignore, and aliens stumble their way through the messy art of love. Each standalone story mixes comedy, warmth, and a romance that stays sweet but never boring.

Sometimes the strangest places lead to the most unexpected happily ever afters.

Whether for entertainment, under the guise of medicine, or to propel consumerism, heinous acts are perpetrated daily on women’s bodies. In Body Horror: Capitalism, Fear, Misogyny, Jokes, award-winning journalist Anne Elizabeth Moore catalogs the global toll of capitalism on our physical autonomy. Weaving together unflinching research and surprising humor, these essays range from investigative—probing the Cambodian garment industry, the history of menstrual products, or the gender biases of patent law—to uncomfortably intimate. Informed by her own navigation of several autoimmune diagnoses, Moore examines what it takes to seek care and community in the increasingly complicated, problematic, and disinterested US healthcare system.

A Lambda Literary Award finalist and a Chicago Review of Books Nonfiction Award shortlist title, Body Horror is “sharp, shocking, and darkly funny. . . . Brainy and historically informed, this collection is less a rallying cry or a bitter diatribe than a series of irreverent and ruthlessly accurate jabs at a culture that is slowly devouring us” (Publishers Weekly, starred review). Featuring an updated introduction and new essays, as well as illustrations by Xander Marro, this new edition of Body Horror is a fascinating, insightful portrait of the gore that encapsulates contemporary American politics.

Inspiring and timely, Pauli Murray's Revolutionary Life is the riveting story of an African American woman, born in 1910, who blazed through the barriers of race and gender decades before the Civil Rights and Women's Movements. Pauli Murray fearlessly rode freight trains dressed as a boy during the Great Depression and befriended First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt before embarking on a pioneering life of social activism, legal scholarship, and many firsts. In 1944, Pauli graduated first in her class at Howard University; in 1965, she was the first Black woman to earn a doctorate in law from Yale University; in 1966, she was a founder of NOW, the first National Organization for Women; and in 1977, Pauli was the first Black woman to be ordained as an Episcopal priest. Pauli never faced a barrier she couldn't smash through, and her life as a feminist, civil rights lawyer, poet, author, activist, and priest paved the way for all to live a life of equality and purpose.

Saints are the powerful, benevolent dead. They remain connected to the living to provide assistance, especially in times of need. Everyone has patron saints, even the marginalized who may feel abandoned and removed from these spiritual traditions. Queer Saints: A Radical Guide to Magic, Miracles, and Modern Intercession is a contemporary reimagining of an ancient spiritual practice—the intercessory power of saints. “Intercession” is typically defined as the action of intervening for another. Pagliarulo offers listeners a wide range of saints that includes the traditional, as well as re-envisioned saints specifically for a queer constituency. These include Saint David Bowie, Saint Freddie Mercury, Saint Alexander McQueen, Saint Moms Mabley, and Saint André Leon Talley. Pagliarulo explains why these are queer saints and offers practical information on how to venerate them—from building altars to making offerings. Queer Saints makes change and self-empowerment accessible to listeners of all faiths and belief systems by spotlighting the transformative impact queer saints have had on our world and their burgeoning influence on our spiritual future.
