Synopsis

They were enemies. She hated him, he couldn’t stand her, and that was that. Yeah. Right.

But there was a darker side to Joey that no one knew. Not even my dad—the chief of police. 
They only saw the perfect jock who could do no wrong. Except for Nate—the jerk.

That’s how I always thought of Brittany. Until I came across the perfect couple arguing one night on my way home. 
I told myself to keep walking, but I'm glad I didn’t. Or else I never would have seen the fear in her eyes as Joey put his hands on her. How could I not look out for her after that? 
That’s all it was. I was looking out for the princess.
