Summary

Miss Shopaholism ... I'm Gonna Buy Something Now: When The Shopping Frenzy Becomes A Permanent Condition (Fight Shopping Addiction)
Fight shopping addiction: Free yourself from compulsive shopping - treatment, help and valuable tips!
Shopping is fun for many people: Strolling through the city or shopping on the net is often a welcome opportunity to relax and do something good for yourself. Basically not object, within the scope of their own financial possibilities, to giving themselves or other persons the one or other wish to fulfill. Shopping becomes critical as a rule only when it is not and it attains a status in its own life that is in proportion to others, areas of life appears overrated.
A buying addiction usually begins insidiously. What begins as an occasional frustration purchase can unnoticed become an uncontrollable desire and quickly take on a worrying dimension. Many affected people do not manage to fight their constraints on their own.
For those affected, shopping becomes a regular intoxication.
As with many types of addiction, those addicted to shopping also have a preference for certain objects or behaviours: Some people predominantly buy shoes, others lose their heads in special offers or order the tenth food processor from the online shop. Those who are addicted to buying do not buy the items because they need them. It is all about the process of buying. This triggers an intoxicating feeling of happiness in the addict. Once the purchase is complete, however, the intoxication is also over.
This is followed by feelings of guilt and depression, which in turn are numbed by new purchases. In the end, the shopping addicts often face broken families, broken friendships and a huge mountain of debt.
Gain control over shopping addiction - Conscious and healthy consumption management!
Do something good for yourself and take some time for this guide. Take the first step into a happy and fulfilled life. Try it out - it's worth it!

The United Nations is one of the most famous bodies in the world, and its predecessor, the League of Nations, might be equally notorious. In fact, President Woodrow Wilson’s pet project was controversial from nearly the minute it was conceived. At the end of World War I, Wilson's pleas at the Paris Peace Conference relied on his Fourteen Points, which included the establishment of a League of Nations, but while his points were mostly popular amongst Americans and Europeans alike, leaders at the Peace Conference largely discarded them and favored different approaches. British leaders saw their singular aim as the maintenance of British colonial possessions. France, meanwhile, only wanted to ensure that Germany was weakened and unable to wage war again, and it too had colonial interests abroad that it hoped to maintain. Britain and France thus saw eye-to-eye, with both wanting a weaker Germany and both wanting to maintain their colonies. Wilson, however, wanted both countries to rid themselves of their colonies, and he wanted Germany to maintain its self-determination and right to self-defense. Wilson totally opposed the “war guilt” clause, which blamed the war on Germany.
One of the League’s most lasting legacies was the manner in which it handed over administrative control of land in the Middle East to the victorious Allied Powers, namely France and Britain. The Ottoman Empire quickly collapsed after World War I, and its extensive lands were divvied up between the French and British. The intention of the mandate system was to have the administrators peacefully and gradually usher in independent states, and both European powers eventually attempted to withdraw from the region, but anyone with passing knowledge of the Middle East’s history in the late 20th century knows that the region has seen little peace.

    Escaping the Gulags: The History...

One of the most idiosyncratic horrors of Soviet Russia was the Gulag system, an extensive network of forced labor and concentration camps. Part of the rationale behind this system was that it could serve as slave labor in the drive for industrialization, while also serving as a form of punishment. The name Gulag is in fact an acronym, approximating to “Main Administration of Camps” (in Russian: Glavnoe Upravlenie Lagerei) and operated by the Soviet Union’s Ministry of the Interior.[1] The Gulag consisted of internment camps, forced labor camps, psychiatric hospital facilities, and special laboratories, and its prisoners were known as zeks. Such was the closed and secretive nature of the Soviet state that to this day, knowledge of the Gulag system comes mainly from Western studies, firsthand accounts by prisoners such as Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn, and some local studies after the fall of communism.
The most recognisable version of the Gulag, a term that was never pluralized in Russia itself, existed from the 1930s-1950s, a period in which a huge network of camps and prisons was established across the vast Soviet federation. Prisoners were often used as forced labor, made to do physically arduous and soul-destroying tasks. Some workers helped to build large infrastructure projects, and indeed the system was partly rationalized in terms of economics.
By the early 1960s, Gulags were synonymous with various forms of punishments, including house arrest, imprisonment in isolated places, or confinement to a mental hospital where a prisoner would be declared insane or diagnosed with a “political” form of psychosis. In its later years, the Gulags held a particular place in the public’s imagination, both within the USSR and in the outside world. They could mean exile, brutal punishment, or simply being banished to Siberia.
