Arsène Lupin versus Sherlock Holmes  is a book by French author Maurice Leblanc, first published in 1908. This collection of two stories includes The Blonde Lady and The Jewish Lamp. In this second book in the Arsène Lupin series, our rogueish detective faces his most formidable adversary yet. Herlock Sholmes and his partner Wilson are called to France to investigate the case of the Blonde Lady, but their past encounter with Lupin adds an extra layer of intrigue. With a chance for revenge against Lupin, Sholmes eagerly accepts the assignment. In the previous book, Arsène Lupin, Gentleman Burglar, there was a short story called 'Sherlock Holmes Arrives Too Late', but after protests from Arthur Conan Doyle's lawyers, the name was changed in this book to Herlock Sholmes. These stories were originally serialised in the magazine Je Sais Tout from 1906 to 1907.

In 100 per cent of criminal trials someone, if not everyone, tells lies.
If it wasn’t for liars, there wouldn’t be trials.
When a defendant swears ‘to tell the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth’, most judges and barristers believe their evidence will be ‘nothing like the truth’. Who can blame them? During years of exposure to a daily diet of murder and mayhem, lies and liars, they’ve heard it all before.
In Nothing Like the Truth, Nigel Lithman QC provides an entertaining and irreverent insight into life in the criminal courts as barrister, QC and Crown Court judge. Using his experience in true crime, he mixes tales of horror with humour and questions whether it is possible for defendants to get a fair trial.
Nigel Lithman QC is well known among his peers as a fearless advocate, fair-minded judge and funny man. Exasperated with the criminal justice system, he successfully led the Criminal Bar in its only strike against the government.

"When people ask why I joined the Coast Guard, I respond that I was twenty-two, blond, and fit. In most military services that is guaranteed sexual harassment. Why not join the one with the ocean breeze?"
Caroline's journey from enlisted Coast Guard member to CIA analyst includes boot camp, Hamptons yachters named Gary, meaning making in Guantanamo Bay, and a session with a Veterans Affairs-assigned therapist who has fourteen cats, one of which cures migraines. She takes you from serious topics of sexual harassment and suicide to laughing about how her predator's moment to make her prey was oddly interrupted. You are a fly on the wall during her botched FBI polygraph and will be scratching your head about her CIA classmate who U-turns during their surveillance-detection training like she just saw a sign for a sale at Macy's.

    Narrated by Brianna Madia
In this beautifully written, vividly detailed memoir, a young woman chronicles her adventures traveling across the deserts of the American West in an orange van named Bertha and reflects on an unconventional approach to life
A woman defined by motion, Brianna Madia bought a beat-up bright orange van, filled it with her two dogs Bucket and Dagwood, and headed into the canyons of Utah with her husband. Nowhere for Very Long is her deeply felt, immaculately told story of exploration—of the world outside and the spirit within.
However, pursuing a life of intention isn’t always what it seems. In fact, at times it was downright boring, exhausting, and even desperate—when Bertha overheated and she was forced to pull over on a lonely stretch of South Dakota highway; when the weather was bitterly cold and her water jugs froze beneath her as she slept in the parking lot of her office; when she worried about money, her marriage, and the looming question mark of her future. But Brianna was committed to living a life true to herself, come what may, and that made all the difference.
Nowhere for Very Long is the true story of a woman learning and unlearning, from backroads to breakdowns, from married to solo, and finally, from lost to found to lost again . . . this time, on purpose.
