Beschreibung

Ernesto Giribaldi, a renowned painter, lives a life of apparent success in Santa Margherita Ligure, but he is a restless man, constantly searching for something undefined. His life takes an unexpected turn when Eleonora Danieli, companion of Gabriele D’Annunzio, accepts his invitation to pose as a model for a portrait. This marks the beginning of a game of seduction and emotional tension that culminates in an intimate encounter. However, the idyll is shattered by a mysterious crime: Ernesto is found dead in his beach hut, stabbed with a dagger under inexplicable circumstances.D’Annunzio, with his cunning and intuition, takes on the task of solving the mystery, uncovering intrigues and secrets involving not only the victim but also his wife Isabella and the ambiguous Marinella Astarti, Ernesto’s lover. The narrative weaves together seduction, revenge, and manipulation, culminating in a confrontation between Isabella and Marinella, where the dark dynamics of power and jealousy that led to the murder emerge. Isabella confesses to the crime, driven by despair and fear for the future of her daughters, but her fate rests in the hands of D’Annunzio, who orchestrates a solution to protect the woman and her children, while leaving every moral certainty suspended. The plot ends with an unexpected encounter between D’Annunzio and Isabella, charged with erotic tension, suggesting that the drama never truly ends, but instead transforms into new relationships and power games.

When private Detectives Heaven and Garrick are approached by a polygamy escapee to find her long-lost missing child, they must keep romantic entanglements aside and infiltrate an underground prostitution ring run by ruthless extremists.
After solving the case involving the murder of the mayor of Los Angele's daughter, actress Lauren Jenkins, Heaven and Garrick started a private investigation business together and mutually agreed to keep their previous romantic relationship strictly professional.
One morning, Brook Ambers, a well-known rich widower, enters their office. After some hesitation and skepticism, Brook begins to open up and goes on to tell Heaven and Garrick about her heart-breaking childhood. She goes on to explain how she gave birth to a baby at the age of 13 that was taken straight from her womb at birth and how she did not know the gender of the child. Heaven and Garrick agree to the task of finding this child, who would now be an adult.
While surveilling the polygamy compound, Garrick is shocked to see a former colleague, LAPD Detective Gwen Pratt, entering the premises. Unsure of why Detective Pratt was there, Heaven and Garrick both agree to go talk with her.
When speaking with Detective Pratt, Heaven and Garrick are surprised to find out that Pratt was a runaway from the same extremist group when she was young.
Heaven, Garrick, Pratt, and an FBI agent team up to infiltrate the compound by going undercover to bring down this extremist underground prostitution operation while reuniting Brook with her son.

    A Séance kind of evening

It was almost as if someone wrapped the room in a cold hand, chill in the air triggering goosebumps on my skin. I caught motion in the corner of my eye, turned in time to see a glowing, ghostly figure float through the pocket door and come to a halt at the far end of the table. This time, rather than a static image, the young man raised both arms, eyes black pits of emptiness, mouth gaping open as he reached for Emelia. Who screamed and reached back. "Manuel!"

I'd be nominating Sadie for an Oscar for this performance. Right after my terror at this new and utterly believable trick allowed me to breathe.

When the psychic leading the seance she's attending ends up dead, Fee can't help but feel like her bad luck yet again put her in the wrong place at the wrong time. With Sheriff Crew Turner ordering her to stay out of it or else, her father, retired from the force or not, egging her on and a string of murders begging to be solved, she can either go home and be a good B&B owner or find out whodunit!

"The Adventure of the Mazarin Stone" is one of 12 Sherlock Holmes short stories by Arthur Conan Doyle in The Case-Book of Sherlock Holmes. It was first published in the Strand Magazine October 1921.
Watson arrives at 221B Baker Street where the page boy Billy shows him a wax effigy of Holmes placed near a curtained window in the sitting room. The effigy produces a shadow on the curtain that, when viewed from outside, is the unmistakable profile of Sherlock Holmes. Using this visual trick, Holmes aims to give a perfect target to a would-be murderer with a rifle. Holmes names his murderer as Count Negretto Sylvius, the diamond thief he has been following in disguise. He gives the criminal's address to Watson, then sends the doctor out the back for the police. As the Count arrives, Holmes has Billy invite him inside, then takes him by surprise when he attempts an assault on the effigy. Holmes then offers the Count and his helper, boxer Sam Merton, freedom if they give up the jewel, or jail if not.
