  One general tied to the Seleucid Empire was Artaxias, who founded the Artaxiad dynasty and managed to unite various Armenian regions under his rule and establish a strong central government, which enabled him to wage successful military campaigns against neighbouring powers. Artaxias I the Pious also built the capital city of Artaxata, which became a cultural and economic centre for the Armenian people. The succeeding kings of the Artaxiad dynasty continued to expand the territory of Greater Armenia, which at its height, stretched from the Black Sea to the Caspian Sea and from the Caucasus Mountains to the Mediterranean Sea. 
  During the reign of the Artaxiad dynasty, Armenia became a hub of trade and commerce, connecting the Silk Road and the Mediterranean world. The Armenian kings encouraged the development of agriculture, commerce, and arts, and the kingdom became renowned for its skilled artisans, writers, and philosophers. Of course, given its central location, the dynasty also faced numerous challenges, including repeated invasions by the Roman and Parthian empires, internal conflicts, and economic hardships. The dynasty’s resilience and adaptability enabled it to survive for nearly two centuries, leaving behind a rich cultural and political legacy that has endured in the region, even as its historical memory was overshadowed by its more powerful neighbors. 
  Today, the Artaxiad dynasty remains an integral part of the Armenian identity, and its influence can be found in Armenian art, literature, music, and architecture. Perhaps just as importantly, the dynasty continues to inspire Armenian patriotism to this day. Many literary works have been written about the kings of the Artaxiad dynasty, including novels, plays, and poems, and many operas have been written about the most powerful king of the dynasty, Tigran II the Great (Tigranes II), including one written by the famed composer Antonia Vivaldi, Tigrane.

  Xenophon’s The Art of Horsemanship is a highly unusual text in the corpus of Classical Greek literature. It is a short survey on the various aspects of care for horses as seen by a highly experienced rider from the 5th century BCE. It is particularly notable because so many of its observations are relevant to the modern rider. Xenophon, friend of Socrates and professional soldier, is best known as the author Anabasis, the vivid account of a failed military expedition deep into Persia.  
   
  The Art of Horsemanship is very different in tone and content – a practical study from deep personal knowledge gained from working with horses, but none the less fascinating. 
   
   Xenophon considers what features and qualities to look for in a horse – among them broad chest, wide nostrils, prominent eye, supple knees, positive manner– and the sound of the hoof, which indicates good feet. (The ancient Greeks did not shoe their horses). There are even useful tips on approaching the horse to avoid conflict. He discusses training over different terrains and many other useful tips. The translator, Morris H. Morgan, provides extensive notes, not just on technical pointers such as mounting without stirrups or saddle, but also by comparing contemporary sculptures where artists took licence over reality. Furthermore, Morgan provides a fascinating essay The Greek Riding-Horse, which is an extended commentary on Xenophon.  Also on this recording is Xenophon’s On The Cavalry General, a second treatise on horsemanship, but taking a different perspective.

  Book 1 - In today’s world, our perception fundamentally shapes our reality. This explains why two people can have entirely different interpretations of the same event. The meaning we assign to events stems from our beliefs and emotions. So, can altering our perception actually change our world? If so, how can this be achieved? And if it's possible, how can we mold our reality to create a better one? 
  What we see defines what we believe, and what we believe dictates what we consider true. Our sense of truth then becomes our reality. Thus, our perception molds our reality. Although we share the same world, we each focus on our own perceived truths. Even though everyone has eyes, each person views the world in a unique way. It’s easy to find what we’re looking for, but harder to notice what we’re not searching for. For example, one person might see a glass as half-full while another sees it as half-empty. 
  Book 2 - Gender does influence persuasion, largely due to the emotional and intellectual differences between men and women.
