'Ada Baker was a psychic. She was the seventh daughter of two parents who were both seventh children. And she had been gifted with some extraordinary powers.' Ada Baker is a gifted psychic, who shares her home with three very bored ghosts. Spending their days roaming around Ada's house offers little amusement, and so the three of them convince Ada to help them investigate the mysterious death of local beauty Mary Watts, who is found naked and strangled in her bathtub. This begins a series of exciting adventures for Ada, as she draws on her unique skills to help solve this heinous crime. Along the way, she must convince a sceptical detective of her aptitude for channelling the abilities of the dead, avoid the unwanted attentions of a sinister stalker, and try to enlist the help of a squadron of ghostly spitfire pilots to save her own life. Can the dead really bring justice for Mary and help save the living too? Will Ada solve the mystery of her murder? Or will Ada's curiosity lead to her own demise, causing her to end up as a ghost herself?

The New Adventures of Sherlock Holmes - Volume 8:
Throughout many years, Dr. John H. Watson accompanied his friend and companion Sherlock Holmes in solving countless mysteries and crimes. Beginning in the 1880s and into the 20th century, Holmes consistently held his status as the world’s most brilliant and successful detective. His accomplishments were painstakingly chronicled by Watson in notes that relate the adventures of Sherlock Holmes. Many of his accounts have been published and are well-known to a broad readership.
There were times, however, when Watson would refrain from publishing his writings during his lifetime. He would do so for various reasons: At times, he would find himself forced to keep actual events and background information secret for moral, criminal, or financial reasons. Other times, he would want to either avoid potential political, legal, or social scandals or even damage to his own—or Holmes’s—reputation. Some of Watson’s accounts, however, were simply not published at the time because he was occupied with more important or urgent matters.
The New Adventures brings to the public for the very first time some of Watson’s accounts of Sherlock Holmes cases previously kept under lock and key.

Haddleton's debut is a striking, multifaceted take on the family-secret novel. In the year 1900, Darby Walker makes the trek across Florida's Tampa Bay from St. Petersburg; his brother Tulley's lighthouse has gone dark, and their father is dead under suspicious circumstances. The timelines are split between this urgent present and the brothers' childhood, starting with Darby's birth in 1865. These sections provide background on the bitter conflicts between gregarious, sensitive Darby and boundary-pushing, standoffish Tulley, but they also delve deeper into the Walker family's roots and its history on Cape Cod. Haddleton's use of multiple time periods offers various perspectives on both Darby's and Tulley's backstories. Most strikingly, the novel outlines the life of the boys' grandfather Nathaniel, a staunch abolitionist who once helped to free slaves from Florida plantations. Nathaniel's history in particular sets up powerful themes, connecting the family to the land and seas of Florida and Massachusetts as well as their participation in historical events and prejudices. Some paths, like Nathaniel's, are heroic, but others contain dark chapters that pit brother against brother, foreshadowing Darby and Tulley's present-day conflict. The nuanced exploration of these themes of compassion and strife would be enough to recommend the book, but it also drives the plot in the present as Darby questions Tulley about his role in their father's death. The writing here lends a strong sense of place to the proceedings, as do thorough -- but not overwhelming -- details on ships, lighthouses, and the sea ... With the initial murder mystery linking all these disparate elements together, this must-read novel maintains a consistent, compelling sense of tension and feeling. A well-researched mystery punctuated by thrilling tension and deep emotion. -- Kirkus Reviews

This audiobook is narrated by an AI Voice.
Brian Crossley has already walked through grief deeper than most men could bear—his girlfriend Savanna, his father, his mother’s fragile heart. But when a mysterious time-bending mission lands in his hands, grief becomes a weapon, and the past becomes a battlefield.
Armed with a list of names, Brian steps into a machine that can drop him into decades long gone. His task: stop murders before they happen. His price: the weight of killing killers.
The next name on the list is Sherry Brown, a young woman murdered during a 1963 robbery in Sevierville, Tennessee. Her death, for a mere $102 from a gas station register, was dismissed as another unsolved case, buried under dust and time. But Brian has seen the future. He knows that if Sherry dies, more lives will be claimed by the killers who walk away. Stopping them means rewriting history—and taking blood into his own hands.
Haunted by recurring visions, the ghost of Savanna, and the fragile thread of his father’s life, Brian must face not only two men who treat murder like a game, but also the crushing question of morality: does saving the innocent justify becoming a killer himself?
In this relentless journey of violence, sacrifice, and redemption, Brian learns that time doesn’t forgive mistakes—and every choice has a cost.
The Case of Sherry Brown is a gripping fusion of suspense and heartbreak, blending crime, time-travel, and the unbearable weight of second chances.
