Beschreibung

A collection of three horror novels by Mark L'Estrange in one volume!

Dawn Of The Mummy: The small town of Clevedon has always been a place where residents look out for each other, and neighbors ensure a warm welcome is given to newcomers. But when an ancient, deadly power from thousands of years ago comes to life, can the people of the quaint village find a way to stop it, or will they succumb to the monster resurrected from its slumber?

Flesh Eaters: Thorndike is just like any other quaint Cornish village. Families have lived there for generations, and the village inn boasts the finest food and warmest welcome. Visitors and locals alike agree that old Thad Beanie makes the most delicious meat pies they have ever tasted, and like most chefs, Thad refuses to divulge the secret to his family recipe. The secret, which stretches back hundreds of years, is not how you cook the meat, but where the meat comes from.

Silver Bullet: Unsatisfied with the response from the local police force, Jenna Wilkinson arrives in the quaint market town of Huntly to search for her missing uncle, a Professor of Anthropology from a prestigious London university. Together with Detective Constable Alan Young, they set to uncover his disappearance. Unbeknownst to either of them, the town is in the grip of a powerful presence as old as time itself. As more victims follow, they'll have to put aside their beliefs and superstitions to save the town. But can they escape a fate worse than death?

The Adventure of the Beryl Coronet

A banker, Mr. Alexander Holder of Streatham, makes a loan of £50,000 (equivalent to approximately £5.76 million in 2019) to a socially prominent client, who leaves a beryl coronet—one of the most valuable public possessions in existence—as collateral. Holder feels that he must not leave this rare and precious piece of jewellery in his personal safe at the bank, and so he takes it home with him to lock it up there. He is awakened in the night by a noise, enters his dressing room, and is horrified to see his son Arthur with the coronet in his hands, apparently trying to bend it. Holder's niece Mary comes at the sound of all the shouting and, seeing the damaged coronet, faints dead away. Three beryls are missing from it. In a panic, Mr. Holder travels to see Holmes, who agrees to take the case.

The Adventure of the Copper Beeches

Violet Hunter visits Holmes, asking whether she should accept a job as governess—a job with extraordinary conditions. She is enticed by the phenomenal salary which, as originally offered, is £100 a year, later increased to £120 when Miss Hunter balks at having to cut her long copper-coloured hair short (her previous position paid £48 a year). This is only one of many peculiar provisos to which she must agree. The employer, Jephro Rucastle, seems pleasant enough, yet Miss Hunter obviously has her suspicions.

From The Davies Brothers, winners of the BAFTA Rocliffe New Writers Showcase (supported by the London Book Fair)... The Centurion Papers is a thrilling new series of Sherlock Holmes mysteries. Too explosive for publication, kept hidden for a hundred years... until now.
More mystery, more adventure, and even a little romance for Dr Watson... These THREE new cases follow Holmes and Watson on the trail of their most nefarious foes yet.
    The Black Widower
A letter from Italy, a jilted lover… and the hunt for a ruthless murderer. Sherlock Holmes races across the continent to catch a debonair but deadly villain: 'The Black Widower' is preparing to entrap his next victim – a wealthy young English lady with a trail of suitors. Surrounded by the beguiling mountains and lakes of northern Italy, Holmes must discover the true identity of the elusive killer, and apprehend him before he strikes again.
    Red Silk
There is another! Dr Watson learns of his predecessor as partner to Sherlock Holmes, a man whose powers of deduction rival those of the great detective himself. Campbell Thorne left a letter detailing his final case, and Watson discovers that Holmes's most devastating adventure may have occurred even before they met.
    The Silent Soprano
Scandal at the Royal Opera House as the world's greatest soprano is robbed of her most precious asset: her voice. Holmes and Watson are drawn into the backstage drama at Puccini's latest opera, where they must unpick a tangled mystery involving feuding divas, a priceless diamond… and a cold-blooded killer on the loose.
Three stunning new episodes in the Sherlock Holmes canon from Dr Watson's recently found Centurion Papers - uncovered by The Davies Brothers, authors of Hudson James and the Baker Street Legacy, and The Phoenix Code.

The only way to catch a killer is to think like one...

When a senior Metropolitan Police officer and High Court judge die in quick succession, criminal profiler Doctor Alex Gregory is convinced their deaths are linked to the most shameful case of his career: the notorious wrongful conviction of Carl Deere, an innocent man found guilty of a series of heinous murders perpetrated by the ‘Soho Killer’. Four years later, released from prison and with his record wiped clean, Deere is an invisible spectre with a new name and a new face. But, as Gregory knows only too well, the past isn’t easily forgotten, and revenge can be a powerful motive—even for an innocent man…

With Scotland Yard determined to avoid any further scandal, Gregory and his friend and mentor, Professor Bill Douglas, are left to fend for themselves. With no real evidence and the body count racking up, they know it’s only a matter of time before their names are next on the killer’s list…

Murder and mystery are peppered with romance and dark humour in this fast-paced thriller set amidst the scenic landscapes of Cambridge and London.
