BruceG is a Professional Grower in the Kingdom of Aspen trying to complete an environmental plan to protect the aquifer at Justin’s feedlot. But, he is continually thwarted by “systemic discrimination” being practiced by Professional Builders from a “dysfunctional” government regulatory body because they believe only builders can do feedlot plans.
    A ‘turf war” pursues.
Queen Mara, a Political Appointee within the Ministry, takes up the builder’s cause and decrees only builders can do feedlot designs. She threatens closure of Justin’s Better Beef Haven. BruceG fights back and Queen Mara files a complaint against him for challenging her edict and offending her ego.
Now BruceG has to deal with a scarecrow, his own self-regulatory body, the League of Growers, who decides on complaints and can discipline its’ members. The ensuing investigation is fraught with biases contributing to procedural unfairness.
Saving Justin’s feedlot and protecting the aquifer hangs in the air.
The author, Doug Cameron, has worked close-up and “in the face of” various regulatory bodies for over 40 years. He is familiar with their legislated power and the harassment and abuse they can dish out when challenged—all hidden from the public. The lack of an overseer to rein-in scarecrows gone awry is a major issue.
This book uses satire to expose the inner workings, stupidity, biases and unnatural justice used by reg-bodies to protect their own self-interests and/or self-image rather than protect the interests and well-being of the public.

Sometimes what your life is missing is an eccentric group of older ladies to take you under their wing?.?.?. When Rae Sutton’s mama passes away and leaves her the house where she grew up, Rae can’t imagine how the little old place might restore her broken life. The Victorian Plague is a satire on self-awareness, religion and philosophy. The title is an allegory to what eastern theology dubs the ego, its effect on the conditioning of the modern primate and civilisation as it currently stands. It is the authors unfiltered zeitgeist and theory of reality. The author presents a deconstruction of our modern-day perception of what reality is, what it means to be alive and presents some subjective theories of the historical influences that led us to arriving at the awareness that we currently rest at. It covers everything from education, psychedelic chemicals, cultural conditioning and the practical utility of Zen Buddhism. The book makes three absurd claims which are defended and elaborated on thoroughly, the author argues that the average civilized human being is hallucinating, there is no such thing as progression through time, and that we have no free will. It explains Eastern theology in English, not in mysticism. This book is all you need to understand Zen Buddhism, the beauty and dread of language, and why you shouldn’t care about spiritual pursuits in the slightest. The book has two faces, yet it hides nothing. If you like this work you prove the author right, if you hate this work you prove the author right.

He even likes the bitter receptionist, though he’s the only one who does. He likes his wife, Midge, too, and their ice-dancing lessons. Midge works as a candle-party hostess – she quit her office job when Al’s dog ate her pet pigeon and Al promised Pulpy a promotion.

But when Al retires and the tyrannical Dan takes over, the promotion vanishes. And then Dan’s oversexed wife, Beatrice, takes a shine to Pulpy, and Dan starts to think Midge is one hot tamale. Soon, the receptionist is smitten with Pulpy, Midge can’t get rid of Dan and Beatrice, and Pulpy’s job is in jeopardy. For once, Pulpy just might have to take a stand.
