Beschreibung

World Leaders Mistakes explores critical errors in judgment made by influential figures throughout history. It examines how political missteps, strategic blunders, and ethical lapses have redirected history, highlighting the fallibility of leadership. The book delves into cognitive biases affecting leaders under pressure and the impact of misinformation on disastrous decisions, providing insights into the long-term consequences of flawed decision-making. One intriguing aspect is the analysis of ethical compromises made when leaders face seemingly impossible choices. The book progresses by first introducing a theoretical framework using cognitive psychology, political science, and historical analysis. It then presents case studies representing various historical periods and geographic regions, illustrating the consequences of leadership failures.By analyzing these mistakes, the book identifies recurring patterns and underlying causes, providing actionable insights for current and future leaders. What makes this book unique is its blend of historical analysis with contemporary insights from behavioral science and political theory.

It’s time to create a future where feminine power and leadership is celebrated. It’s time for a radical awakening and a revolution. It’s time for women to rise.

In Women Rising, you’ll discover how to recognise and resist the very real forces of power that limit how you work and live as a woman. Are you tired of being asked to ‘lean in,’ fit in, perform and conform? The truth is that women today continue to be constrained by pervasive ideas about how we ‘should’ act and behave.

To break free, we need to understand the forces that limit our potential. Those forces are external and internal, without and within, and they sabotage the very success we work so hard for. In Women Rising, author and award-winning empowerment expert Megan Dalla-Camina shows you how to see and cut the invisible strings holding you back.

Women Rising unveils the 6 external paradoxes that impact how women lead and succeed. You’ll uncover how these power paradoxes affect our visibility, empowerment, confidence, success, motherhood and leadership.

Turning inward, you’ll discover how our internal narratives, the stories we tell ourselves, can also serve to keep us stuck. Women Rising unmasks 13 archetypes that keep us striving for impossible standards as a Perfectionist, an Overachiever, a Good Girl, a People Pleaser and more.

Finally, Women Rising illuminates the path forward. It shares real, practical tools and strategies that women everywhere can use to craft a future where we succeed on our own terms. Grounded in leadership experience from the world’s largest organisations, Megan Dalla-Camina’s hands-on toolkit shows you how to find your vision and purpose — and evolve as a confident, authentic leader.

It's time to rise and to step into your power. This guide will show you how.

In the early 70s a drugged-out seventeen-year-old named Doug, along with his secretly gay, openly black, best friend, decides to hitchhike across the country in search of a mythical Utopia. They meet Bologna Jane & Tina the Monkey Girl, Big Arm and Nigga Dog. They almost die along the way. Doug hooks up with his brother and friends on converted school bus. They harvest huge bags of really weak marijuana, thanks to a couple of Redneck Hippies, and try to sell it. Along the way, Doug winds up getting his ribs and heart broken.
Sick of hitchhiking and hunger, Doug decides it is time to get rich. He gets sucked into the inside world of the famous Glenn W. Turner and his get-rich-quick scheme: Koscot Interplanetary, Incorporated. Doug cuts his hair, buys a suite and tie, and along with a bunch of Disney World rejects, spends his days trying to convince strangers to give him a $5000 so he can make them rich. Then he changes into his real clothes and spends his nights begging strangers to give him a buck so he can eat.
His failure to become a good salesman or panhandler leads him to a group of friendly Satan-worshiping heroin addicts who believe that in the end of time, Jesus will forgive Satan, who will then resume his place as the greatest Angel in all of Heaven.
This is a completely true story. Proof exists in the form of letters, interviews, memorabilia and historical evidence. Besides, nobody could make this up.

An electrifying and vulnerable memoir that invites readers into an intimate conversation about our digital and physical selves, gender, and belonging.

In My Body Is Distant, Paige Maylott writes about her life — both virtual and IRL — as she explores her authentic self and sexuality through dream-like virtual worlds. While Paige dances in online BDSM clubs and hurls spells on virtual battlefields, she is swept into a fairy tale romance that pushes her into discovery mode: How can she transcend her carefully curated computer universe and manifest that happiness in the real world?

As she discovers the person she is meant to be, Paige contends with a cancer diagnosis and an imploding marriage while struggling to convert an online love story into reality. When a humiliation at work provides the necessary push to transition, Paige finds the freedom to explore her new self.

Part trans woman’s coming-out story and part heartfelt romance, My Body Is Distant follows Paige from a childhood obsession with the 1980s game Zork, through a health crisis and divorce, to, ultimately, an affirmation of authenticity and self-love.

This audiobook is narrated by an AI Voice.
This book traces the life and legacy of Genghis Khan from his childhood on the steppe to the consolidation of an empire that transformed Eurasia. It combines rigorous historical narration with a humanized approach to explain how a leader forged unity from chaos, imposed the Yassa as a norm of proportionality, turned the Silk Road into a secure trade system, and created a mobile bureaucracy that made the 'Pax Mongolica' possible. Through campaigns, reforms, and pacts, it reveals both the devastations of conquest and the administrative innovations, religious tolerance, and social mobility that marked the 13th century. From the rise of Temüjin to the succession and the role of Kublai Khan, the book presents a lucid balance of lights and shadows, and traces the thread connecting that steppe order with the identity of modern Mongolia.

While attending catechism class as a child, Curt Melliger was taught that if he obeyed the rules all his life he would be allowed to enter a place called Heaven when he died. The priest and nuns described it as a sacred abode up in the clouds that contained all of the very best things in the universe. There was sunshine and blue sky, pretty flowers and double rainbows, peace and happiness, ringing bells and beautiful music, saints and angels and the all-enveloping love of God. The young boy's mind processed this information and came to the stunning conclusion: "Why, they're talking about Earth!"
Since that early revelation Curt has been discovering other examples of paradise incarnate wherever he goes. This book is a collection of stories on subjects ranging from water, fire, and stars to adrenaline rushes, near-death experiences, and the place where goosebumps originate, from skiing powder and climbing high mountains and walking in reverse to the changing of seasons, the lessons of night, and the reason for dreams, from wild animals, unseen visitors, and beings that do not die to the magic of the human touch, beatific ecstasy, and what awaits us on the other side of the veil that only partially separates this golden realm from the perfect one.
For the Ultimate is much closer than we have been led to believe. Indeed, it is readily available right here on this planet, this Garden of Eden, this one-of-a-kind oasis in space.
    Right now.
