Sinopsis

Virile Encounters. Raw Desire. No Apologies.

In these fierce and flesh-bound stories, Manuel García strips desire down to its primal core. Here, men are real—sometimes silent, sometimes rough, always magnetic. Beneath the weight of unspoken truths, in the tension of side glances and the nearness of skin, something dangerous stirs. Lust isn't announced. It ignites—suddenly, wordlessly, like fire catching dry pine.

The title story unfolds in the dense stillness of a wilderness camp. Two men—Dan, all height and swagger, and Ale, quiet, lean, unreadable—share a cramped tent after a punishing hike. Sweat clings to their bodies, the air thick with unwashed clothes and the scent of wood smoke. When clothes fall away, so do assumptions. What begins with a daring stare and a flash of vulnerability becomes a night of unexpected hunger—tent walls shaking not with wind, but with need.

Ale is smaller, smoother, but unafraid. Dan is curious, restless, already hard from the moment his instincts take over. Their first contact—skin on skin, lips parted, breath held—isn’t choreographed. It’s raw. Fierce. A challenge more than a caress. Tongues wrestle like boys testing dominance. Heat builds in the dark, until the only thing louder than the insects outside is the sound of surrender.

These aren’t polished fantasies. These are carnal truths.Men who don’t ask permission.Men who find each other in silence—and lose themselves in it.The night at the campsite is only the beginning.

Society was not built with the needs of Black women in mind. As a result, we learn that the only way to feel good about ourselves is to prioritize everyone else's needs over our own. We find our value in being the perfect partner, mother, daughter, employee, and friend. But that is exhausting. Instead of feeling good about how dope we are, we only feel good about what we do for others.

Supremacy culture teaches us to hate Black people, to hate women, and to especially hate Black women . . . except when they need us. So in a world where our service is required for acceptance, how could we ever feel good about ourselves while also giving the middle finger to systems of power? How can we live our best lives? The answer: Self-esteem. Self-esteem has been gatekept by the white and male supremacist delusions for far too long. It's time to put power where it actually belongs.

In Drink Water and Mind Your Business, Dr. Donna Oriowo helps listeners understand the basic foundations of self-esteem and offers real, meaningful solutions to feel like the most glorious and badass versions of themselves. Based on years of research and Dr. Donna's career as a licensed sex and relationship therapist, this book will help you set boundaries, prioritize your needs, understand your immense worth, and pursue a life that brings you pleasure and joy.

In the final years of World War II, the fate of Nazi Germany seemed sealed. By early 1945, the once-feared Reich was in rapid decline. The German military was stretched thin, fighting on multiple fronts, and its once-unstoppable war machine had been crippled by continuous defeats. The Allies from the west and the Soviets from the east were closing in, their forces overwhelming the remnants of the German military.

In the East, the Red Army’s relentless advance had already pushed the Germans back hundreds of miles from the Soviet Union’s borders. The success of the Soviet offensives, especially following the victory at Stalingrad, left the Nazis reeling. Soviet General Zhukov’s forces had already crossed the Vistula River in Poland and were now bearing down on the Oder River, just a stone’s throw from Berlin. The Red Army’s advance was swift, and Hitler, from his bunker beneath the Reich Chancellery in Berlin, could no longer deny the grim reality that the capital was in imminent danger.

Despite this, Adolf Hitler refused to surrender or even entertain the thought of defeat. His obsession with holding Berlin—his “fortress”—was absolute. As Soviet forces neared the capital, he remained convinced that a miracle might still turn the tide. To his inner circle, this delusion became apparent. His judgment was clouded, and the once-great military genius was now a desperate and isolated dictator. He ordered that Berlin be fortified, even though it was clear that the city’s defenses were insufficient against the overwhelming Soviet force.

    Samples:
"Little by little the writing gets done. A book emerges from the ether, to join its brethren in the great library of mankind. I am the author. Of all possible lives I might have chosen, this one feels right."
    --
"When I was working on my first novel, then my second, then my third, I kept thinking there would come a day when, finally, I’d have it all figured out. There’d be some novel writing process I could follow again and again that would allow me to write books with far less hassle and strain. Eventually I realized that hassle and strain are the process."
    --
"I almost hate to tell you about the false solution. Once you’re aware of it, you’ll never be able to read books or watch movies without this narrative slight-of-hand being obvious. From this point on, you’re a magician who knows how the woman gets sawed in half."
    What critics are saying:
"Positive, solid advice offered in a breezy, useful way. It's going on my small shelf of writing books." — Gary Cohn

About empty thrones, a lot can be said. Throughout history, both ancient and near modern, a lack of an heir and the sudden death of a beloved monarch always meant trouble. When the position of a king is up for grabs, a lot of eager hands come forward. Pretenders and would-be heirs, cousins and nephews, bastard sons and daughters - they all came forward staking their claim to the throne. In the history of Medieval England, such episodes were many. Usurpers who oust kings and heirs, pretenders with long-forgotten dynastic claims: many once fought for the lucrative throne of the English Kingdom. However, by far the most important of all these historic episodes lasted from 1455 to 1487 - 32 long years of struggle and bloodshed in England. And that episode was known as the Wars of the Roses. These wars ravaged England, pitting two competing cadet families of the royal House of Plantagenet - York, and Lancaster. Their supporters, the Lancastrians and Yorkists, descended into bitter warfare over the throne. For their symbols they took red and white roses, respectively - thus giving the name to the conflict.
