Something scared Nuala Flaherty to death. When her body is found in the center of a pentagram on a lonely moor in the shadow of Ben Shee mountain, Rebecca is determined to find out what killed her. Her beloved father, a career policeman, came from there, but he fled the island's and his own family's dark history, and Rebecca herself had a brush with death while pursuing a story there. But there's no way she can avoid going back. Besides, her dear friends, photographer Chaz Wymark and his partner, Alan, are about to be married on Stoirm, causing a small stir in the isolated island community.

Rebecca's investigation will lead her to a mysterious cult and local drug dealings. But what she doesn't know is that crime matriarch Mo Burke still has her in her crosshairs. What if it all came crashing down?
In The Fall of America: Book 3 the battle for America rages on. John and his fellow partisans evolve from a rag-tag group of rebels into an organized force. Embarking on more challenging and dangerous missions, they target larger Russian installations. Using classic guerrilla war tactics the resistance forces attack the gulag prisoner camps and Russian air bases.
But their efforts are not without casualties on both sides and the Russian's respond by instituting a campaign of brutal civilian massacres in reprisal. John's commitment is sorely tested when the Russians show an increasing knowledge of the rebel's plans and defenses. Could there be a traitor in their ranks? What sort of person could betray their fellow Americans?
Can the patriots discover the enemy within in time and put a stop to their treachery? Or will John and his wife Sandra join countless others who gave up their lives to the cause? For John - dying in the next battle for the South might be preferable to being captured and enduring a slow death in a Russian labor camp. Book 3 re-ignites the action and savagery of a struggle to regain America from foreign invaders.

"Silver Blaze", one of the 56 Sherlock Holmes short stories written by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, is one of 12 in the cycle collected as The Memoirs of Sherlock Holmes. Doyle ranked "Silver Blaze" 13th in a list of his 19 favourite Sherlock Holmes stories.
Sherlock Holmes and his partner Dr. Watson travel by train to Dartmoor to investigate a crime of disappearance of the great race horse Silver Blaze and the murder of the horse's trainer, John Straker. Holmes and Watson arrive at King's Pyland, from which Silver Blaze is missing. Fitzroy Simpson has come to Dartmoor (and specifically to King's Pyland) to gather information relating to his professional activities, and has become a suspect in the murder. However, to Holmes, from the outset, there seem to be a number of facts that do not fit the inspector's case against Simpson, damning as it looks. It seems odd, for instance, that he would lead the horse out on to the moor simply to injure or kill him. That could be done right in his stall. He could not have stolen the animal. What good would such a famous thoroughbred be to him? Why has an exhaustive search of the neighbourhood not turned up Silver Blaze? What has Simpson done with him?
