Twelve-year-old Hailey Madison and her family are trading the hustle-and-bustle of the city for a farmhouse in the town of Harper's Fall, and Hailey isn't happy about it. Hailey's parents think the move will be beneficial for her little sister, Emma, who has always been uneasy around large crowds, but Hailey is convinced life on a farm will be dull.

Over the years, there has been a string of disappearances in Harper's Fall, and it seems they may be linked to an old cornfield on the farm's property.
