Beschreibung

Brooklyn Blatrix comes from a life of privilege being the heiress of the Blatrix Vacuum dynasty. The daughter of a devoted Catholic school teacher and an alcoholic, absentee father, Brooklyn has felt the weight of responsibility her entire life. With her degree in Funeral Services just within reach, a text from her boyfriend of six years ending their relationship was not what she expected. Then again, neither was getting fired from her job the same week. Determined to seek vengeance on her ex and his new girlfriend, Brooklyn sets up a fake social media profile to aid in her plan. However, by day, Brooklyn must start her new job as an intern at Macintosh Mortuary and Memorial Gardens.
Tall, dark, and quiet Brantley McAffey is not what Brooklyn expected from a funeral home director, but that is exactly what she got. Brantley understands Brooklyn, the pressures she feels, and he does it with an air of intrigue Brooklyn can't seem to stay away from. But, Brantley has a secret he's been keeping from everyone - a secret he's willing to kill for - and Brooklyn is about to find herself in the trenches of a trial by media before the year is over.
THE FUNERAL DIRECTOR'S WIFE is a dark, romantic thriller that takes a twisting story of a passionate, but deadly, relationship and mixes it in with the complexities and dangers of social media.

Amy Levy was born in London, England in 1861, the second of seven in a fairly wealthy Anglo-Jewish family. The children read and participated in secular literary activities and became firmly integrated into Victorian life.
Her education was at Brighton High School, Brighton, before studies at Newnham College, Cambridge; she was the first Jewish student when she arrived in 1879, but left after four terms.
Amy’s writing career began early; her poem ‘Ida Grey’ appeared when she was only fourteen. Her acclaimed short stories ‘Cohen of Trinity’ and ‘Wise in Their Generation,’ were published by Oscar Wilde in his magazine ‘Women's World’.
Her poetic writings reveal feminist concerns; ‘Xantippe and Other Verses’, from 1881 includes a poem in the voice of Socrates's wife. ‘A Minor Poet and Other Verse’ from 1884 comprises of dramatic monologues and lyric poems.
In 1886, Amy began a series of essays on Jewish culture and literature for the Jewish Chronicle, including ‘The Ghetto at Florence’, ‘The Jew in Fiction’, ‘Jewish Humour’ and ‘Jewish Children’.
That same year while travelling in Florence she met the writer Vernon Lee. It is generally assumed they fell in love and this inspired the poem ‘To Vernon Lee’.
Her first novel ‘Romance of a Shop’, written in 1888 is based on four sisters who experience the pleasures and hardships of running a London business during the 1880s. This was followed by Reuben Sachs (also 1888) and concerned with Jewish identity and mores in the England of her time and was somewhat controversial.
Her final book of poems, ‘A London Plane-Tree’ from 1889, shows the beginnings of the influence of French symbolism.
Despite many friendships and an active life, Amy suffered for many years with serious depressions and this, together with her growing deafness, led her to commit suicide by inhaling carbon monoxide on September 10th, 1889. She was 27.

Chantal Frei (pseudonym) who grew up in the French-speaking part of Switzerland, was only six years old when Satanists decided to make her into a Mother of Darkness. At that time, she had already survived massive torture – which was the reason why the cult considered her to be strong, smart, and intelligent enough to be trained by the Illuminati.
Today, Chantal Frei is able to speak out about her experiences as a survivor of satanic ritual abuse, spiritual abuse, and mind control in order to help others by providing insight and knowledge. The information provided in this book is by far not complete as the author can only share what she herself has experienced and understood. She states: "More and more I realize, that with my book, I can only scratch the surface of this topic." Nonetheless, her personal account is unique and important. Chantal Frei is the first survivor with a German-speaking background who has been this deep in the inner circle of the Illuminati and has mustered enough courage to speak out about it. During cruel rituals, she met with heads of state, nobles, and celebrities. Therefore, she was taken to well-known places – such as the White House and a famous Spanish basilica – but also got into secret military facilities and a remote castle in Belgium. These places and people, some of which are also mentioned by other survivors, illustrate the terrifying extent of an abysmally dark phenomenon known as ritual abuse.
Chantal Frei wants to help bring light into this darkness.

In this powerful debut, Rebecca Dimyan details her experience with endometriosis, a chronic disease which effects one in ten women worldwide. This painful condition takes an average of seven years to be diagnosed and has no proven cure. Most women will undergo multiple surgeries, take countless painkillers and other drugs, and will still endure regular pain and other complications. With honesty, vulnerability, and sometimes humor, Dimyan explores the ways the condition has impacted her experiences, her body, her pain, and her joy. She takes her audience on an emotional journey through her teenage years, early twenties, and into her thirties as she becomes a professional woman, wife, and mother. Dimyan blends research, anecdotes, and advice as she shares the relief she's found through alternative treatments and holistic medicine. Chronic isn't just a story about one woman's illness—it is a memoir about all the pain, pleasure, heartbreak, friendship, love, and hope she experiences on her path to healing.
