Beschreibung

Cloud Howe is a 1933 novel by Scottish writer Lewis Grassic Gibbon. It is the second part of the trilogy A Scots Quair. The central character is a young woman, Chris Guthrie, growing up in a farming family in the fictional parish of Kinraddie in the Mearns at the start of the 20th century.

Cloud Howe continues the story of Chris Guthrie. She marries for a second time to Robert Colquhoun, a Church of Scotland minister. At the end of the novel, he dies in the pulpit while delivering a sermon.

Lewis Grassic Gibbon was the pseudonym of James Leslie Mitchell (13 February 1901 – 7 February 1935), a Scottish writer. He was best known for A Scots Quair, a trilogy set in the north-east of Scotland in the early 20th century, of which all three parts have been serialised on BBC television.

Emily Moss cannot stand the roguish Alexander Bredon. As this season's most desired debut, she could have any man she wants. Unfortunately, Lady Lancaster pairs her up with none other than the incorrigible man himself.

With mutual dislike and contempt, Alex would rather be doing anything other than escorting the high and mighty Emily, until a secret about her falls into his lap. Suddenly, he realizes there may be more to the lady than he originally thought.

Perhaps the only thing that can keep them from killing each other is falling for each other instead.

Ice cream, you screamWelcome to my murder scene.
Sheriff Rebecca West and her team may have ended the Yacht Club’s debauched reign, but things on Shadow Island haven’t calmed down. In fact, it's taken on a more terrifying form. Sensationalist headlines accuse Rebecca of everything from conspiracy to corruption, but the real danger isn’t in the ink and whispers. Something worse has washed onto the shores of Shadow Island.
And it can kill in a single bite.
A local man has fatally overdosed on fentanyl at the ice cream parlor after polishing off a salted caramel cone. No history of drug use, no needles, no signs of addiction—only a body filled with poison. Rebecca suspects something far worse than a tragic accident. But how does fentanyl find its way into a dessert?
When a father and his two children are poisoned by fentanyl after eating at a local diner, Rebecca comes to a startling realization. A sadistic killer is playing a dangerous game of chance, turning routine moments into fatal traps. The island is no longer just haunted by its past—it’s under siege by a faceless killer, lurking in every bite, every sip, every breath.
Instead of a bullet, he’s randomly placing poison around town in a deadly game of Russian roulette. No one is safe. And any unsuspecting citizen could be next.
Shadow’s Doom, the horrifying seventeenth installment of the Shadow Island Series by Mary Stone and Lori Rhodes, is proof that the power to kill is the most addictive—and deadly—drug of all.

USA TODAY BESTSELLING AUTHOR Hope Ford brings you a steamy cowboy romance about a romance author that doesn’t believe in love until she meets a wounded warrior that teaches her that real all-consuming love can withstand anything.HaileyI’m a romance novelist who no longer believes in love.My agent keeps calling it writer’s block, but I think what I have is more permanent. If I no longer believe in love, how can I continue to write books about it? Still, I take her suggestion to figure something out and find myself in Whiskey Valley at a ranch to get some firsthand knowledge of what cowboys really do. I am not prepared for the level of male hotness that greets me. Griffin is rough and tough and growly, but I catch glimpses of his tender underbelly that has even my iced-over heart melting a little.GriffinI’m a wounded warrior trying to learn to live again.I don’t particularly want to show the city girl writer around our ranch. But at least I get to follow behind her and watch her curves swing as she walks. She could definitely bring all the bulls to her yard. I expect her to ask her questions and leave. I don’t expect to want to open up to her and share some of the wounds I came home with. And I sure as hell don’t expect to want to keep her.Faithful Cowboy is the third book in the Whiskey Valley: Bryant Brothers series. If you love reading alpha ex-military cowboy, fish out of water small town romances, then you’ll love Griffin and Hailey’s story. Each book in the series is a standalone.
