Synopsis

THE book "GRANDMA OLIVIA A CASA VERDIANA" opens to the reader a world very close to American, Italian and civilized families throughout the world, i.e. the one relating to Rest Homes for the so-called SELF-SUFFICIENT people of the third age, but who often use a walker cart. There are aspects of daily life, friendships and relationships between them, with the Sisters who manage Casa Verdiana, as well as with doctors, civil workers and family members, the latter fundamental for their physical and mental health with their affection and their visits, which have an effect comparable to that obtained with medical therapies and with good material, physical and spiritual assistance. It reflects the American, Italian and other nations of the world society, because the people hosted are mostly women, who live longer than men. Foreigners such as NONNA OLIVIA are also starting to be present, a sign that Italian society is increasingly international and multiracial.

Lassiter Adams is the ruiner, as in, he's digging up acres and acres of land for what he claims will be condos on the premise that he has every right to do it because he's an Adams, too. Not to mention, he had the most money to pay the back taxes no one knew the Adams owed and piles of money talks where the Cedar Glen town council is concerned. When he shows up with his cash, a few backhoes, and an attitude bigger than all of Cedar Glen, chaos ensues.Avery does everything short of tie herself to a tree to stop him from desecrating sacred werewolf land—land he doesn't even know belongs to werewolves. But Avery and Lassiter have a relationship that goes as far back as when they were in high school, and try as she might, Avery can't connect the dots to the once sweet, if odd boy who was her mad high school crush, to this new Lassiter who's always angry and single minded in his search for something he won't explain. Also odd? His weird relationship with his parakeet . . .Their differences aside, they both have secrets they've kept all their lives—secrets that, if not spilled, could keep them apart forever . . .

“An unforgettable story of great love torn apart by war, of heroism and betrayal, passion and pure evil, all set against an idyllic Greek island backdrop. It’s a genuine masterpiece, a book to lose yourself in.” Gill Paul, The Secret Wife
“With the historical authenticity of Sebastian Faulks, the perfectly observed family relationships of Santa Montefiore, and the gut-wrenching twist of Jojo Moyes, The Officer and The Spy is epic, enthralling and deeply emotional.’ Iona Grey, Letters to the Lost

Under the Cretan sun, in the summer of 1936, two young people fall in love…
Eleni has been coming to Crete her entire life, swapping her English home for cherished sun-baked summers with her grandfather in his idyllic shoreside villa. When she arrives in 1936, she believes the long, hot weeks ahead will be no different to so many that have gone before.
But someone else is visiting the island that year too: a young German man called Otto. And so begins a summer of innocence lost, and love discovered; one that is finite, but not the end.
When, in 1941, the island falls to a Nazi invasion, Eleni and Otto meet there once more. But this time Eleni has returned to fight for her home, and Otto to occupy it. They are enemies, and their love is not only treacherous, but also dangerous. But will it destroy them, or prove strong enough to overcome the ravages of war?
An epic tale of secrets, love, loyalty, family and how far you’d go to keep those you love safe, The Officer and The Spy is an exquisite and deeply moving love letter to Crete – one that will move every reader to tears.

Sisters trapped under threat of fire and destruction. Dragons enslaved by a power-hungry prince. A stable hand who must devise a plan to save them all.
Dragons circle the Oneskan palace at night, shrouding the kingdom in fear and mystery. Only Princess Emelia and her sisters know the fiends fly them to the enemy country of Tsantar under cover of darkness, where Prince Leonnar hopes to steal their secrets and gain control of Oneska. Their father’s proclamation that the man who drives away the hovering dragons will marry one of his daughters incites the princesses to redouble their efforts to escape Prince Leonnar’s tyranny.
When the enigmatic new stable hand, Merric, offers to help, Emelia finds him as frustrating as he is attractive. His superior knowledge of dragons gives her new hope, until he shatters her trust by showing more interest in protecting the vile creatures than getting rid of them. But only by finding a way to work with Merric—and with the dragons she detests—will Emelia have any chance of freeing herself, her sisters, and her kingdom from Tsantar’s clutches forever.
