Description:
Jess Calloway can see disaster coming — she just can't stop it. Born to a shaman father and a spirit medium mother, Jess inherited the sight but not the power to fix what she foresees. When her father vanishes on the way to help a childhood friend whose young son, Cody Collins, has had his life force stolen, Jess is left to solve the case alone in the dangerous city of Westport.
To save Cody, she must outmaneuver the Hartwell dynasty — one of Westport's wealthiest families — and unravel a decade-long conspiracy of stolen lives, dark rituals, and hidden betrayal. With the clock running out and an enigmatic ally named Evan Hartwell appearing at every turn, Jess begins to wonder: is her gift of foresight truly a power — or a curse she was never meant to carry?
A propulsive supernatural thriller perfect for fans of dark fantasy and occult mystery.

The Adventure of the Noble Bachelor, one of 56 short Sherlock Holmes stories written by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, is the 10th of the 12 stories collected in The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes. The story was first published in Strand Magazine in April 1892.
Lord Robert St. Simon's new American bride, Hatty Doran, has disappeared almost immediately after the wedding. The servants had prevented an old love interest of his from forcing her way into the wedding breakfast, and Hatty had been seen in whispered conversation with her maid. Inspector Lestrade arrives with the news that Hatty's wedding dress and ring have been found floating in the Serpentine. Holmes quickly solves the mystery, locating Hatty at a hotel with a mysterious, "common looking" man who had picked up her dropped bouquet after the ceremony.
The man turns out to be Hatty's husband, Frank, whom she had thought dead in America and who managed to locate her only moments before she was to marry Lord St. Simon. Frank and Hatty had just decided to go to Lord St. Simon in order to explain the situation when Holmes found them.

The storm had been building, and now, the reckoning had come. Joe Galloway had fought to hold onto his business, his family, and his life in Bellevue. But the battle isn’t just about land or money anymore—it was about power, blood, and who was left standing when the dust settles. The Consecki family ruled the coal industry with an iron fist, and Pete Consecki would do whatever it took to keep it that way. Rules don’t matter. Neither does the law. Winning was the only thing that counts. Sheriff Smith had seen enough blood spilled in Bellevue, and he was desperate to stop the war before it consumed the town. He warned Joe to stand down, to let justice take its course. But Joe knew better. Justice was a luxury for men who still believed in it. Violence was the only language his enemies understood—and it was the only thing he had left. When two more bodies hit the ground, the choice was made for him. The final showdown was coming, and the cost of survival may be more than anyone was willing to pay. In Bellevue, there were no second chances. No redemption. No mercy. This time, only one man would walk away.
