Synopsis

He was checking on tenants. She was visiting family.
Both were about to receive a second chance.
When Fitzwilliam Darcy bought Willow Hall, he thought he was helping a friend escape an untenable situation. Little did he know he was purchasing a second chance for his own happiness. However, when he returns to Derbyshire to prepare for his friend's visit, that is exactly what he finds when he meets his tenant's guest.
Elizabeth Bennet has long regretted her harsh refusal of Mr. Darcy's proposal and, though she expects never to see him again, she also longs to be able to make things right. When she is sent ahead of her aunt and uncle to visit the Abbots at Willow Hall, she finds herself suddenly thrust back into Darcy's circle and given the chance she desires.
Just when Darcy and Elizabeth are set to embark on a second chance at happiness, an unexpected visitor arrives at Willow Hall, causing quite a stir and presenting a problem which could hinder our dear couple's happy future.
The Tenant's Guest, which is set in the summer after Darcy's dreadful first proposal, is Leenie Brown's second installment in her Willow Hall Romance Series. If you like Austen-inspired sweet romance about discovering love in unexpected places, then you'll love this Pride and Prejudice variation about claiming a second chance and holding onto it with both hands, come what may.
So, put the kettle on, grab your copy of The Tenant's Guest, and join Darcy and Elizabeth at Willow Hall as they rediscover their love for each other while surrounded by family and friends.

Maupassant is hailed as one of the greatest masters of the short story. This collection focuses upon the land he knew and loved so well – Normandy. Its people and its countryside are portrayed here in vivid colour and with great warmth. Amusing, saucy, and sometimes even farcical they may be, but they are also capable of great pathos, often branching off to end tragically. It is this skilful and affecting blend of tragedy and comedy, of tears and laughter, which make Maupassant’s Normandy Stories the enduring favourites they are today.

The second in the Pulitzer Prize–winning historical fiction series takes Lanny Budd through the 1920s, from the rise of fascism to the crash on Wall Street. The First World War brought an abrupt end to Lanny Budd’s idyllic youth. Now, in the wake of the Treaty of Versailles, he barely recognizes the beloved Europe of his boyhood. At the start of his career as an international art dealer, Lanny travels to Italy and witnesses the brutal charisma of Fascist leader Benito Mussolini. Meanwhile, in Germany, the failed Beer Hall Putsch led by Adolf Hitler’s Nazi Party strikes an ominous note foreshadowing the devastation to come. After two star-crossed love affairs, Lanny marries a wealthy heiress and chooses the United States with its booming economy as their home. But neither he nor those he loves can predict the financial disaster that will bring a decade of prosperity to an abrupt close.  Between Two Worlds brings one of the most fascinating and tumultuous decades of the twentieth century to thrilling life. A spellbinding mix of history, adventure, and romance, the Lanny Budd Novels are a testament to the breathtaking scope of Upton Sinclair’s vision and his singular talents as a storyteller.
