The Notorious B.I.G., born Christopher Wallace, was a highly influential American rapper, known for his laid-back lyrical delivery and storytelling. He rose to fame in the mid-90s, becoming a central figure in East Coast hip-hop with his debut album, Ready to Die (1994). He was known for exploring themes of hardship, criminality, and celebration. His life was tragically cut short in a drive-by shooting in 1997. Life After Death, his second album, was released posthumously and achieved massive commercial success. He is widely regarded as one of the greatest rappers of all time.

    CURIOUS FACT SAMPLES:

Christopher Wallace, known as The Notorious B.I.G., was raised as a Jehovah's Witness, and attended St. Peter Claver Church in Brooklyn, graduating from the college in 1982. He also excelled in English at Queen of All Saints Middle School.

Despite being an honor student, Wallace dropped out of school at the age of sixteen due to his growing interest in drug dealing. He was influenced by the crack epidemic of the 1980s and 1990s and began selling marijuana around age twelve.

Wallace's early musical influences included Black artists like Stevie Wonder and Marvin Gaye, as well as jazz, reggae, soul, and mento during visits to Jamaica. He later became influenced by artists like Run-DMC and LL Cool J, adopting the stage name CWest and forming a group called the Techniques.

“Kids are great. It’s a unique process that everyone should experience.” Except that today, 1 in 20 French people refuse to have children. What are the reasons for this “voluntary infertility?”
Do we really know why we have children? Isn’t having children an obstacle to personal and professional development? In an overpopulated and polluted world, isn’t it selfish to take up too much space by having a family? Don’t children cost too much to individuals and to society?
The author investigates with dozens of women and men for whom the “duty to procreate” rings hollow. Among these “non-parents” are exclusive lovers, artists, careerists, religious people, traumatized children, eternal teenagers, environmentalists, convinced Malthusians, as well as feminist activists who have made their refusal to give birth a standard, in order to assert themselves in a society that praises all mothers and family values.
