Synopsis

AS AN ACADEMIC SURGEON, Laurence Ghione was forced to reconsider his understanding of life after accidentally discovering he had the cancer that he specialized in. 
In Hacking Consciousness: A Physician's Journey, Laurence Ghione documents his search for perception and our place in life. We're bound by our beliefs. Brick by brick, we build a wall of expectations that leads us to perceive the anticipated. The shortcuts we're born with and those we learn, blind our perceptions and hamper our ability to grasp alternate understandings and realities. 
Hacking Consciousness - A Physician's Journey shares the events that shook Ghione's core beliefs and the tools which allowed him a glimpse of a greater knowing, including meditation and psilocybin.
