Beschreibung

Trouble is stirring in Irede, the pleasure town whose existence traces back to the age of the gods. Shade attacks are happening in unprecedented numbers, causing the streets to run red with blood. Xixu begins a solitary manhunt for the shaman believed to have engineered the recent chaos, while Saridi confronts the evil at its source.

As the danger comes to a head, the truth of Irede is revealed, and the fates of a young man and woman begin to intertwine. Myth, mystery, blades, and betrayal—all pale in comparison to the brilliance of the moon.

It's a sunny day, and Lil' Cub is flying over the neighborhood looking for someone to play with. Lil' Cub spots his friend Bently. Bently is a helicopter. Bently tells Lil' Cub that he has been sent by Mr. Dispatcher to find him, as there is a very important job for him to do. Lil' Cub finds Mr. Dispatcher at the door to the hangar. Mr. Dispatcher tells Lil' Cub he is perfect for the job that needs to be done because he is small. The job is delivering medical supplies to Doc Bowing on the high desert. Lil' Cub feels honored to have been asked to do this Mercy Flight and tells Mr. Dispatcher that he is more than willing to do the job. Lil' Cub sets off on his mission and, during the flight, encounters some bad weather and high winds. Lil' Cub talks to himself and says he must keep on going, for people are counting on him to deliver this medicine. With each new obstacle that confronts him, Lil' Cub tells himself (over and over) “I can make it! I can make it!” After a very long flight, Lil' Cub comes to the place where Doc Bowing is waiting. Doctor Bowing is very happy to see that Lil' Cub has made it safely and thanks Lil' Cub for completing the mission. When Lil' Cub returns home, his friend Bently is waiting for him, and Bently tells Lil' Cub that he is a hero! Lil' Cub replies that he feels very good because even though he is very small, he was able to help many people by delivering the much-needed medicine.

Seven fictional stories―Captain America, Iron Man, Harry Potter, Star Wars, The Lord of the Rings, Batman, and Wonder Woman―point us to the ultimate hero, Jesus Christ.Think about it. What if Batman knew your name and wanted to be friends with you? What if you were the one that Tony Stark died to save? What if it was you that Luke Skywalker would stop at nothing to redeem? Hollywood Heroes will awaken you to these questions and help you to see a God who stops at nothing to redeem you. And it will strengthen you to invite others into conversations of faith and life in Jesus.Fictional stories about heroes help us realize that there is evil to fight, souls to be won, and growth to be achieved. It helps us recognize―regardless of religious or cultural beliefs―that sacrificing your life for another’s is a powerful and beautiful display of love.Fictional heroes help us to reconsider what is tangibly in front of us through the lens of story rather than simply as just another day in our ordinary lives. Appealing straight to the heart, the stories bypass artificial barriers that we would normally block them with because our worldview has been threatened. When we examine out-of-this-world qualities like idealism, genius, a willingness to sacrifice, discipline, loyalty, humility, courage, wisdom, focus, power, and love, we discover that Jesus practices them perfectly.
