Beschreibung

The events of August 15th, 2018, leave the world stunned. An anomaly that engulfs an entire country leaving only death and silence in its wake. As the world struggles to comprehend the new disaster, chaos spreads across the globe, creating a discourse of conspiracy and delusion. Amidst this chaos, one journalist ventures on a quest to uncover the truth behind the catastrophe, armed with nothing but the internet and his wit.

The main character, Daniel Akwasi Aboagye, is an investigative journalist going through a life that has been unfulfilling—coming to terms with age and the failed expectations of greatness. He believes he has so much talent to offer, but he’s stuck in a world that overlooks him and passes him by. Either way, he presses on because failure is never an option.

That is, until something extreme happens in a neighboring country—something that literally and figuratively infects the planet.

In the midst of such an anomaly, Daniel’s urge to find the truth is the one thing that keeps him going. An overwhelming need that draws him to search for accuracy through the storm of false information flooding the world. Though this time, he can’t even physically travel to the location; all that’s available is his intellect and the internet.

This anthology is a wonderful example of women lifting up other women, of writers supporting writers, of a community coming together to fulfil ambitions and dreams,' writes Cass Moriarty, in the Foreword for Weaving Words.
