  "You do not," Thompson said succinctly.  
  "This makes the fourth time," Farnsworth sighed. "So I'll have to go to higher authority, I suppose."  
  "There is no higher authority, son. This is the end of the line."

Rock and Eddie, best friends and teammates, were poised to make history as the first ever bass fishing state champions at Polk High School. Last year they finished in the top ten, but this year their eyes were on first place. During the summer, the pair spent many hours on Rock’s boat, perfecting their fishing skills. The many lakes throughout Texas kept Rock occupied and happy. When he was on the water, he was at home.  This was also set to be an epic year on the gridiron for the Polk High Panthers. The state of Texas is known for many things, and football is definitely one of them. The football players were local celebrities. Desmond Ward, the senior quarterback, was a fan favorite and had already accepted a full ride scholarship at Texas A&M. His high school passing records ranked him at the top with some of the greatest players to come out of Texas.  Rock wasn’t interested in Desmond, his scholarship, or his records. In fact, he despised him. He didn’t despise the game of football. Rock actually studied it and loved it. He just wasn’t good at playing it. He was good at bass fishing, though, and he knew his time to shine was this year. His hopes and dreams quickly unraveled when a freak accident changed everything. Polk High’s fishing dream team was no more. Rock was put in an impossible spot. He was either going to come out the hero or the laughing stock of the school. This was not how he envisioned his senior year.

  Jake and Hooley

  Jake and Hooley is a fresh modern sequel to the popular 2018 animated film Jake and the Giants and the subsequent audio book that was released. Hooley is an orphaned giant who finds himself hungry, lost and alone near the Village Shi. His immense strength and ability as a lumberjack makes him popular with the Beavers and also with Jake who treats him like a long lost brother making sure he has food to eat and a wonderful place to sleep. 
  There is plenty of building and lumbering for him to do and with his immense strength he does it quickly. However, things turn sour when he realizes that many in the Village Shi are frightened of him and want him to move away. He overhears and sneaks off without a word. 
  The story has surprising twists and turns and continues the Jake and the Giants legacy quite well. The arrival of Conrad the giant and Nora a young giantess who is in love with Hooley create havoc in the Shi Village as they search about for their stolen treasure. The battle scenes and terror  are unique and clever and ultimately satisfying. 
  This is a wonderful audio adventure and captures the true spirit of the human heart. "Don't judge someone by their size but by the size of their heart."
