Synopsis

. . .  a memoir of life with a bi-laterally deaf Dalmatian. My family and I chose to accept the challenge of raising a deaf dog even though we had no experience before. We learned as we went.  My story tells of the joys we shared from knowing and loving him.  Vinnie was full of life and ready to experience everything there was for him to learn and know.  There are many heartwarming accounts of his responses to the world around him.

Learning to communicate without hearing can be a challenge, but it engendered many stories both funny and sad; his reactions to training and limitations are sometimes hilarious.

You will share in Vinnie's growth and accomplishments as well as the pain of his special needs. Vinnie allowed us to live in his world. This is a book about his time with my family, and his spot in my heart.

Peter C. Smith presents us here with the second release in his visually splendid Cruise Ships series. Whilst his first book concerned itself with the large-scale ships currently cruising through our seas (those weighing 40,000 GT and more) this volume focusses on the other end of the market; the ships that weigh in at less than 40,000 GT, but which are often much more stylish and aesthetically pleasing than their larger-scale counterparts. The elegant interiors and luxurious features on display in today's vast fleet of cruise liners remain unrecorded in all but holiday brochures. This book carries on in the tradition of Peter's last release, giving a complete overview of the best of these ships, the cream of the crop, so to speak. Each colour profile includes external and interior views of the featured ship. Details of the design, building and service history of each vessel are provided with vital statistics of the ship and its facilities. This is a book of reference for maritime enthusiasts, would-be holiday cruisers and those who have been passengers. It serves as an impressive visual tribute to the best of the smaller scale fleet currently cruising globally. As seen in the Bedford Times & Citizen.

67 People I'd Like to Slap is one man's journey through the labyrinthine world of human angst and annoyance. The comedy writer, broadcaster and journalist Ian Collins lists, exposes and mocks that irritating contingent of the human race whose job, it seems, is to make life just a tad more infuriating than it needs to be.
From psychics to exotic pet owners, Brits using chopsticks and over-35s at music festivals, through to middle-class protesters, elderly people in small cars and the billion cringe-crimes that are committed on social media every day (plus a healthy dose of well-known names too), Collins's often brutal but hilarious search into the pit of human idiocy leaves few stones unturned. He also addresses some of life's most serious questions:
    - Is Jeremy Clarkson part of a completely different gene pool?
    - What happens when you upset every Beyoncé fan on the planet?
    - Why is Andrew Marr's sofa an affront to intelligent thinking?
    - How could a nice guy like Benedict Cumberbatch annoy anyone?
    - Has social media shrunk our brains?
    - What happens to a sense of shame when men visit the gym?
Part polemic and part diary, Collins spent a year documenting all those areas (and people) that could bug the hell out of the calmest of souls. Armed only with a sensible pen, notepad and a standard High Street blood pressure monitor, he sets out to create the ultimate list.
In the author's words, 67 People I'd Like to Slap is the non-negotiable oracle of all things bamboozling when it comes to human behaviour - the definitive guide that no sane person could ever argue against. Or could you…?
