Beschreibung

Sequel to Blackstone Manor
Two months have passed since Masonry Gargoyle Io came clean with Cinder about his feelings. Of course, in the process, he broke a major rule. Cinder stood by him, at a price, as the Council planned to pay a visit to decide their fate. Io may still be thrown out of the pack, and there's no telling what punishment would be bestowed on Cinder.
As if that isn't bad enough, Ran'imy is mad, jealous, and no doubt cooking up some nefarious plan. After all, she had her sights set on Cinder, too. How could he pick Io, the bumbling fool, over her?
Io has to stand by Cinder's side before the Council, but their relationship is still new. Will their love be strong enough to withstand the Council and Ran'imy's revenge?

Katrina Rose knows there are two things cancer patients can't do: laugh and date. She tries to challenge each one of those assumptions at every last turn. When she finally receives surgery to remove her tumor, she wants to go back to a normal life, but finds herself going to the all-women therapy group for cancer victims and survivors every week. After an aggravating discussion that threatens to shatter Kat's devotion to her group, Carmen walks in and completely changes Katrina's goals.
Carmen Sykes is a tall, beautiful woman, who just lost her girlfriend of cancer. She teaches at the local university and is the curator at the local museum. After she argues with a woman about cancer's perception in the mainstream media, Kat knows she has found her intellectual -- and physical -- match.
The two women immediately start an overwhelming affair that lasts into the final days of autumn. They go shopping for forbidden fruit in the local farmer's market, talk about myth and art and cancer as they stay in bed all day. But soon, Kat realizes Carmen's hiding something she can't quite recognize or name. When a figure from Carmen's past turns up, the truth about what she's really growing in her garden may surprise -- and also relieve -- Kat of all her worries.

Meghan Koo doesn't take life too seriously—especially not in the ten years since she's broken away from her conservative, homophobic upbringing. Now, as the drummer for The Shrikes, she's touring the world and getting to play the music she loves.
Collins has fought for years to be taken seriously as a woman in a male-dominated industry. As one of the most well-respected producers in the world, she doesn't have time or energy to take others feelings into consideration, earning her a fairly . . . callous reputation.
When The Shrikes land the amazing opportunity to have a live show and album special produced, the record label taps Collins to produce—given that she did an incredible job on The Shrikes' Kaleidoscope album. When the opportunity arises for Collins to take over as director, she's told that Meg is the key to getting The Shrikes to back her new role.
Now, Collins finds that she has to get Meg on her side, and they're both a bit surprised by what they find once they stop arguing and start getting to know one another.
Will the two women be able to call a truce in order for the show to go on? Or will the fireworks between them set the entire concert on fire?

After a decade-long relationship with a dominatrix he called Daddy, Emerson Whitney had begun to crave something besides submission. It came as a full surprise‚ submission had been so central to his early adulthood, to his trans identity. Dizzied by new questions of control and aging, and living in a tent while his relationship ends, Emerson stumbles upon an advertisement for a storm-chasing tour. For thrill seekers, it says. Unsure what else to do, he signs up.Daddy Boy follows Emerson as he packs into a van full of strangers and drives up and down the country‚ staying in Days Inns and eating bags of carrots from Walmart and wanting nothing more than to surrender to the force of a colossal storm. We had no idea where we were going, Emerson writes, ‚ just waiting for one cloud to pop. Roaming the prairie landscape of his childhood, Emerson recalls his adoptive dad, Hank‚ unflinching and extremely Texan, and his biological dad, who was rarely around. From the van's trash-strewn back seat, and in the face of these looming figures, Emerson begins to wonder: Did he want to be Daddy now?

I don't understand why the hospital director has insisted that Siena Collins work in oncology.

She is a spoiled brat, unreliable, and causes too much trouble in a department where we must look into the eyes of death every day.

To make matters worse, she can't even touch or talk to patients. She is still in medical school and considering quitting altogether.

Her "job" basically consists of bringing coffee, making a few photocopies, and getting in the way. Yeah, I guess her most significant contribution is getting in everyone's way all day.

    I wish I could take Arya's advice and tell her to . . .

But there's one small problem I forgot to mention: the hospital is named Collins Memorial after her grandfather, and her father is the big boss.

So here I am, trying to save lives while dealing with her immature attitude and tight jeans.

Murder isn't as much fun as it's made out to be, neither is being rescued by a grouchy cop.
All Noel Chance wanted to do was ask a woman a few questions about a kidnapping that took place thirty-seven years ago for his cold case podcast. He didn't think someone would shoot her right in front of him.
While hiding from the murderer by the dill pickle in the food cellar, he calls Bo, his brother's best friend, who is a cop. Bo takes his sweet time to come to the rescue, and once he does, he's surprised Noel was telling the truth.
Bo then kidnaps him and takes him to his cabin in the woods while the police investigate the murder. Okay, maybe it isn't kidnapping, and more a case of keeping him safe, but still. What is he to do with a hot but grumpy man in a cabin with only one bed?
