Synopsis

What would send someone back to the Wasteland after nuclear devastation? 
The hazards of nuclear fallout make the trip a death sentence but when the hope of finding his lost family overcomes Rod Wasserman, he leaves the safety of the Mountain Place on a final, desperate journey back to the remnants of his old life. Certain he can't survive on his own--and terrified of her growing feelings for Liam-- Amaranth agrees to join him, knowing in all likelihood the trip will mean death for them both. What they discover forces them to face the ugly truth about the "new world" after the bombs and to build a completely new definition of "family."

Awesome story....the different view points from each of the characters really make this an interesting read! 
I love these children and the story is gripping. I never know who will survive so you never get comfortable with the twists and turns of the plot. 
This series just keeps getting better. I would recommend this book to anyone who has and interest in "end of world fiction." 
One of the most exciting books I've ever read!
