Synopsis

He's fought through ruthless outlaws and injury. But with her, he's tempted to surrender.

Haunted by the horrors of war, ex-cavalry officer Matthew Hanger leads a band of mercenaries known as Hanger's Horsemen who have become legends in 1890s Texas. They defend the innocent and obtain justice for the oppressed. But when a rustler's bullet leaves one of them at death's door, they're the ones in need of saving.

Dr. Josephine Burkett is used to men taking one look at her skirts and discounting her medical skills. What she's not used to is having a man change his mind in a heartbeat and offer to assist her in surgery. Matthew's dedication to his friend during recovery earns Josephine's respect, and when her brother is abducted, he becomes her only hope for rescue.

When plans go awry and Josephine is caught in the crossfire, Matthew may have to sacrifice everything--even his team--to save her.

'Christianity was bound at first to be a matter of faith and is only now beginning, very gradually, to be a matter of knowledge.' – Rudolf SteinerRudolf Steiner gave 70 lectures on the four canonical Gospels, characterizing the distinctive contribution of each of the evangelists. The Gospel of Mark is a 'cosmic' text that calls for an astronomical as well as a human reading. It is also critical for understanding the evolution of Christianity, which depends on knowledge of 'the Mystery of Golgotha' (Christ's crucifixion, resurrection and ascension). 'We are only at the beginning of Christian evolution', Steiner states, reiterating that its further development will depend on spiritual knowledge. In order to develop such cognition, 'most important of all is reverence for the great truths and the feeling that we can approach them only with awe and veneration'. Many profound spiritual truths are indeed revealed in these lectures.
Among the panoply of topics covered are: 'Mystery Teachings in St Mark's Gospel'; 'The Son of God and the Son of Man'; 'The Symbolic Language of the Macrocosm'; 'The Moon-religion of Yahweh' and 'The Penetration of the Buddha-Mercury Stream into Rosicrucianism'. This thoroughly revised edition includes notes and appendices by Frederick Amrine and an extensive introduction by Robert McDermott.Thirteen lectures, various cities, Oct. 1910–Jun. 1911, GA 124

Sikhism, one of the world's youngest major religions, has roots that stretch deep into the socio-political and spiritual fabric of South Asia. Founded in the late 15th century by Guru Nanak Dev Ji in the Punjab region, Sikhism emerged as a response to the spiritual needs and social injustices of the time. It champions the principles of equality, justice, and service, inviting individuals from all walks of life to join in a collective pursuit of truth and devotion to one God.
At its core, Sikhism is a monotheistic faith that emphasizes the importance of a personal relationship with the divine. The teachings of the ten Gurus, recorded in the Guru Granth Sahib, the sacred scripture of Sikhism, serve as a guiding light for millions around the world. This scripture not only contains hymns and poetry that extol the virtues of love, compassion, and humility but also reflects the rich cultural diversity of its origins, incorporating elements from various religious and philosophical traditions.
Sikhism's distinct identity is marked by its unique practices, such as the wearing of the Five Articles of Faith (the Five Ks), community kitchen (Langar), and the commitment to social justice and equality. The faith’s communal spirit, reflected in the Gurdwara—a place of worship and gathering—fosters a sense of belonging and collective responsibility among Sikhs.
As we delve deeper into the teachings, rituals, and historical development of Sikhism in this book, we will explore the faith's contributions to the global religious landscape and its impact on contemporary society. We will examine how Sikh values resonate in today’s world, addressing critical issues such as religious tolerance, community service, and social equity.
