Synopsis

When she walked through the door to his office, Jake knew trouble was on the horizon. He would be proven right. 
Their secret love affair lasted more than two years. They fell madly in love, but there was a problem. Matti was married—to someone else. 
Their relationship ended abruptly when she left in the middle of the night without a word, for parts unknown. They remained separated by life’s circumstances for eighteen years. 
This story is about a flame that neither time nor 3,000 miles could extinguish. Jake and Matti found happiness despite the odds. It tells of the collateral damage created along the way, how they made new friends in a distant state, brought together five generations, melded families, healed old wounds, and welcomed a newborn while Jake delivered a pitch during what some consider “The Greatest Softball Game.”
