Synopsis

When twenty-three-year-old Madie Hayes moves to Stoney Creek to work at the Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre, she believes her life is on track; a dream job, great bosses and co-workers, and maybe even love.

Her life begins to spiral out of control when the nightmares she suffered as a child return to haunt her in her sleep. The lurid dreams only happen during thunderstorms - and the region is in the midst of its rainy season.

In her dreams, Madie sees a young woman in frightening, increasingly violent situations; it is as if she is calling for help. Going down a dangerous road, can Madie solve the mystery of her dreams - or will she become a victim of something she does not yet understand?

1971—Hal is seventeen, with dreams of escaping from Moorabool to a life in the city. But right now he’s on a good behaviour bond and stuck in a job he hates, paying off the car he ‘borrowed’ and crashed. Hal’s packing-room job makes him a target for workplace bullies and the friendship of the older, more worldly Christine is all that makes each day bearable. So when she doesn’t turn up for work, he’s on the alert.

So is Sergeant Mick Goodenough. But he already knows what’s happened to Christine: the same thing that happened to the newly elected deputy mayor. When another gruesome ‘accident’ occurs in Moorabool, Goodenough suspects there’s something sinister going on behind the scenes at the abattoir.

Mick and Hal are both determined to dig up the truth. Before long each of them is going to find himself in mortal danger and running for his life.

Greg Woodland, author of the acclaimed The Night Whistler, returns with another nail-biting rural thriller that will have you on the edge of your seat.

Winner of two book awards — Global Book Awards (Silver, Mystery/Detective) and NYC Big Book Award (Distinguished Favorite).
Now the gritty Detective Mystery thriller comes to life in immersive, cinematic audio with surround-style sound design and on-scene effects—be in the crime scene.
Detective Charlie Dawson has seen more chaos than most men survive. Once the department’s sharpest mind, now the city whispers he’s past his prime. The chief saddles him with a rookie team—bright, eager, and far too green for what’s coming. Every lead drags them deeper into a cursed case that won’t let go.
In the shadows of the investigation stands Thomas Caldwell—a decorated soldier turned military ghost. The kind of man who doesn’t appear in databases, only in after-action reports that end in black ink and burned pages. His presence shifts the case from ordinary homicide to something buried deep in government silence. Caldwell moves like a man still following orders no one remembers giving—precision in his steps, vengeance in his pulse, and secrets that refuse to stay buried.
But then there’s Ms. Rose—a reporter with a razor-sharp eye and the rare ability to reach Dawson in ways no one else can. Yet every time she gets close, Caldwell’s shadow and Dawson’s mission collide—and if she does, they’ll all end up caught in the crossfire.
Two men. Both trained to survive.
One driven by duty. The other by revenge.
    When they collide—only chaos wins.
Set in a twisted alternate version of the Big East, Ding Dong Ditch fuses police-procedural tension, hard-boiled grit, and psychological warfare into a relentless detective story of vengeance, loyalty, and survival. Tied to the independent film, this edition features layered soundscapes, precise cue hits, and visceral effects that put you on the pavement beside the evidence tape.
Perfect for fans of dark crime thrillers, noir detectives, and edge-of-your-seat procedurals.

Posing as a research scientist sympathetic to the Nazis, Katrin attends a conference organized by Heinrich Himmler. The conference will showcase the Nazis' dark plans to redesign nature and will become the birthing ground of the Holocaust—a cost far greater than Katrin is willing to accept.

Weiss's sister, Kristine Trautmann, a staff photographer for Himmler, is also at the conference. While Kristine may provide the key to Dieter's whereabouts, she has her own secrets, and should Himmler discover the truth, it will cost her life.

Against a backdrop of a political agenda so bizarre as to seem impossible, Katrin discovers that the Nazis aren't the only ones to fear. A serial killer stalks the university halls. Armed with her wits and her trusty stiletto, Katrin finds herself in the crosshairs of danger in the fight of her life.

Housekeeper Phyllida Bright is quite in her element at Mallowan Hall, the charming English manor that she keeps in tip-top shape. By contrast, the bustling metropolis of London, where her famed employer Agatha Christie has temporarily relocated, leaves Phyllida a bit out of her depth. Not only must she grapple with a limited staff, but Phyllida also has to rein in a temperamental French cook who has the looks of Hercule Poirot, but none of the charm.

When a man named Archibald Allston is found dead in an armchair onstage at the Adelphi Theater, first impressions are that he died of natural causes. But the very next day, the unlucky actor playing Benvolio at the Belmont Theater is found with his head bashed in. And when a third victim turns up, this time with double-C initials, the fatal pattern is impossible to ignore.

With panic erupting among theater folk—a superstitious bunch at the best of times—Phyllida steps up to help with the investigation. The murderer's MO may be easy to read, but can Phyllida uncover the killer's identity before the final curtain falls on another victim?
