Synopsis

A writer finds his rural English life disrupted by the arrival of mysterious doctor with a legendary past in this bold and chilling sequel to Frankenstein, written in the style of Mary Shelley's classic.
From the author of Dracula's Child. Perfect for fans of Kim Newman and Silvia Moreno-Garcia.
"He was soon borne away by the waves, and lost in darkness and distance."
There are those who would swear that Victor Frankenstein is dead. Those who would swear that his Creature died also.
They are wrong.
1842. Folklorist Nathaniel Greene escapes to the country to finish his latest book, along with his wife, Alice. Yearning for a family, and yet finding herself without, Alice watches as Greene grows ever more distant with her, fraying their already tense bonds. When a mysterious stranger arrives on their doorstep, bedraggled and delirious, Alice welcomes him in, finding herself seduced by the promises he makes.
1850. In Newgate prison, Nathaniel Greene stands accused of murder. Philanthropist Jesse Malone and psychic Hubert Crowe are determined to understand what happened, but the story Greene has to tell is almost unbelievable: one of monstrous, impossible creations made in an outhouse laboratory.
To uncover the truth behind Greene's bizarre claims, the two investigators must delve into a terrifying world where the men play God once more, and the ghosts of the past appear to be alive and vengeful.
In this visionary sequel to Mary Shelley's peerless classic, old experiments resume, new mysteries arise, and the true question of mankind's morality is tested once more.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This is a riveting book! I wanted to stay up to finish it, but my eyes said no. It's the second book in the series and I highly recommend reading the first one before this book.
Angela returns to Earth to search for and find the last two members of a group called the Ring.
Together, the Ring can access crucial knowledge that the world desperately needs.
Each member has unconsciously carried a piece of this knowledge over thousands of years. By reconnecting the pieces, they will help turn mankind’s negative, violent development on Earth into a positive, loving, and constructive progress.
If the Ring doesn’t reunite now, it is doubtful that they will ever succeed.
Angela only has forty-two days to find the last two members and convince them to go to In-Between with her.
During her forty-two days on Earth, Angela’s past, philosophy of life, and especially her sense of justice are challenged.
She must go beyond her limits, even when she sees her view of the world disintegrate.
The Ring is about standing firm and believing in something bigger than oneself.
It is about daring to live life to the fullest, looking death in the eye, letting go of the past, and having faith.
Through Angela’s journey, readers will come to see the world as they have never seen it before.
This is the second book in the addictive IN-BETWEEN series from author, Sagar Constantin .

Major Hesketh Vernon Prichard, DSO MC FRGS FZS was born on the 17th November 1876 in Jhansi, North-Western Provinces, India, then part of the British Empire.

His achievements in life, beyond his literary career, are both voluminous and startling.

He was an explorer, adventurer, marksman, game hunter and first-class cricketer. In his literary career he wrote short stories, novels, travel pieces and was also a newspaper correspondent.

His father died a few weeks before his birth and his mother, Kate, with whom he co-authored much of his literary output raised him herself. They returned to England where he was educated and excelled at cricket. After school he trained to be a lawyer but never practiced. At 19 he was publishing the first of his stories.

Over the following years he was commissioned to write many pieces as he explored and journeyed around the world including to Haiti, Labrador and Patagonia, where little was known and he thought it his duty to investigate and inform others of his findings. On some of these his mother also travelled with him as they continued their literary journey.

He managed to become part of the Great War effort at 37, although was considered too old for front line duty. Instead he turned his skills to helping establish an Army school of Snipers to mitigate and improve the skills of British snipers and their then appalling losses. In this he was eventually successful and is credited with the saving of thousands of lives.

Hesketh Prichard died from sepsis on the 14th June 1922, at Old Gorhambury House, in Hertfordshire, England. He was 45.

His mother, Kate, survived him and died in 1935.
