Beschreibung

How Can We Know What the Church Is Supposed to Do?
Jesus commissioned the local church to carry out a mission. Yet local churches often disagree over exactly what Jesus commanded them to do, leading them to align their mission with current political or economic trends. So what does the Bible have to say?
In this short ebook, Jonathan Leeman argues from Scripture that the mission of the church is first and foremost to make disciples—the task that each local assembly is called to do collectively—and to be disciples—the task for each individual Christian. He equips readers to obey this disciple-making mission both inside and outside the local church as they seek to follow Christ's call and make God's glory known in all the world.

- A Brief and Accessible Resource: A helpful tool for Christians who are looking for answers to their questions about the church
- Biblical and Christ-Centered: Presents a vision for the church that is centered in the commands of Christ to his disciples in Matthew 28
- Clear Guidance for Churches: Helps local churches and individual Christians understand what it means to make disciples and be disciples in their various contexts

    Deception can lead to murder…
Prosecutor Hannah Lawson is thrust into the spotlight after a local doctor is arrested and charged with the murder of his wife. The case has fractured the county and made her a target for death threats. When she’s attacked and nearly killed, Hannah believes it’s connected to the upcoming trial. She refuses to back down.
Texas Ranger Ryker Montgomery led the murder investigation and is convinced the doctor is guilty. The attack on Hannah reaffirms his suspicions about the lengths the man will go to stay out of prison. A second assault leaves little question someone is gunning for the gorgeous prosecutor. Ryker refuses to leave Hannah—and the baby in her care—unprotected. He’ll put his life on the line to keep them safe.
When another woman is killed in the same manner as the doctor’s wife, the case takes a surprising turn. Working together, Ryker and Hannah must uncover the truth. Obtaining justice is never easy, but this time…it may be deadly.

A new job; the hoped-for spouse; a baby that seemed impossible to conceive; a difficult exam: these are prayers people bring to the feet of Jesus, but may or may not believe, in their hearts, God can make into realities. Include also a society where the drive to do things your way is seen as better than God's way, and we drift further from knowing God fulfills our every need.
However, author Nkechi Chinedum Uwaga wholeheartedly believes anything asked of God in prayer is to be received if one has faith that this is God's will and He can do the impossible.
She seeks to inspire readers' prayer lives and hope in God's abilities to provide in her new, nonfiction book, Ask and It Will Be Given You, For Everyone Who Asks Receives.
Stemming from the scripture verses of Matthew 7:7-8, "Ask, and it will be given you...," Nkechi educates readers on the belief that when we ask needs for our lives, God will provide when we pray in knowledge that He alone can produce this hope, provision, or dream.
Nkechi goes methodically through important attributes of prayer for needs, beginning with why we should ask God to fulfill our needs to how all perfect gifts come from God and concluding with reasons to not give up when our prayers aren't "answered" in a timely manner to us.
Stories of the Bible, such as the Syrophoenician woman with the demon-possessed daughter, as well as Nkechi's own experiences give readers plausible examples of exercised faith shown to God in prayer and the positive results to come from them.
So, what do you need to lay in prayer at God's feet? For Nkechi, anything can become a reality when given to our Father in heaven who gives good gifts to those who ask Him (Matt. 7:11).

Murder—that's what photographer Allye Jessup knows she witnessed as she departed her studio one evening. Waking with bruises on her neck and a foggy memory, she believes she survived an attack, but everyone seems to think she simply sustained a head injury from falling down the stairs of her studio. Plagued by an undiagnosed health condition, she is torn between the haunting reality of what she may have seen and the possibility that her mind is playing tricks on her.

Without proof the other victim ever existed, Detective Eric Thornton can hardly declare the area a murder scene. Still, he adds Allye's report to his already full caseload. But when new evidence surfaces to support her claims, Eric must stay one step ahead of a ruthless killer and uncover the truth before the suspect closes in on Allye again.

Angela Carlisle once again presents cutting-edge romantic suspense laced with danger, deception, and justice.

This book addresses the widespread dismay and perplexity over our divided culture and searches for firmer foundations. Alan M. Suggate retrieves from danger of oblivion a radically different basis for culture. It is humanistic, giving primacy to persons as rooted in their physical and social nature. It defends them against the vast digital and sex markets, and seeks the healing of relations between women, men and children. Globally it dissects English exceptionalism, seen over Brexit, and our imperial role and legacy, especially over black people. It presents a spectrum of cultural practices, scientific, social and artistic, where intellect and emotion combine in personal commitment, imagination and creativity. For in real life fact and value are always interwoven.

He searches for forms of Christianity which best ground this culture and proposes an integralist understanding of the Christian faith, which is modern, but rooted in the undivided Church of the first five centuries: the world is always held within God’s grace and centred on Christ, which gives it cultural dynamism. Christianity is a practice which embraces worship, reflection and action in the world.

Living Culture, Living Christ is for anyone concerned with our cultural predicament and the quest for a vision and stance which can inspire a more healthy and flourishing common cultural life and a credible interweaving of worship, faith and action in the world.
