Beschreibung

In the neon-drenched shadows of the colossal city that never truly slept, global finance cloaked its deepest intrigues in layers of deception and disaster. Meet Orion Wynn, a meticulous risk analyst with an uncanny ability to decipher the silence between data points. When he stumbles upon subtle yet alarming inconsistencies in high-stakes green bond transactions, he becomes an unwitting target in a labyrinth of betrayal that stretches beyond the sterile vaults of investment banks.Orion's astute gaze reveals that these supposedly eco-friendly financial instruments are fronts for hazardous geoengineering experiments, orchestrated by a shadowy syndicate manipulating the Earth's climate for clandestine gain. As his world of pristine spreadsheets and balanced ledgers unravels, Orion is pulled into a turbulent confluence of intrigue, danger, and relentless pursuit of truth.Guided by both data and tenacity, Orion's investigation intersects with Paloma Vance—a renegade investigator known for her intrepid quest for justice. Driven by personal vendettas and fueled by her unquenchable desire for truth, Paloma has carved a relentless path fueled by betrayal and loss. Their initial mistrust quickly evolves into a grudging respect, igniting a dynamic partnership pivotal to exposing the syndicate's hidden heart.Together, they navigate a digital maze—cracking cryptic messages and deciphering encrypted transactions that reveal the syndicate's twisted experiments with both financial instruments and environmental fates. With every digital whisper and hidden message, Orion and Paloma inch closer to the syndicate’s core. But as global tensions rise and climatic anomalies escalate, the stakes are nothing short of catastrophic."Financier’s Ruin: The Nexus of Deception and Disaster" is an electrifying blend of high-stakes financial intrigue, unyielding human resilience, and the quest for ethical integrity. It unravels a global conspiracy inching towards an apocalyptic climax, where a nexus of deception threatens not only financial systems but the very fabric of our shared world. Narrator: Jonathan Dunne
    Original Publication: 1926
    Public Domain: Yes
Series Placement: Number 47 in the Timeless Terrors series
    Description:
The Night Wire by H. F. Arnold is one of the most haunting pieces of early 20th-century weird fiction — a story that fuses the hum of modern technology with a creeping, supernatural dread.
Inside a dim telegraph office in the dead of night, two wire operators receive a strange news report: a distant city consumed by fog and death. Yet as the dispatches continue, the events seem to unfold in real time — and ever closer to home.
With its claustrophobic atmosphere, its blend of realism and the uncanny, and its quiet descent into cosmic horror, The Night Wire stands as a forgotten classic of early radio-age terror — a perfect bridge between pulp mystery and Lovecraftian unease.
Narrated by Amazon-bestselling horror author Jonathan Dunne, this performance captures the dread of isolation, the crackle of the telegraph, and the mounting terror of a message that refuses to stop. While the text is in the public domain, this narration is an original performance and copyright © 2025 Jonathan Dunne.
Part of Timeless Terrors, a series devoted to resurrecting the masters of the macabre and uncanny, The Night Wireendures as a chilling reminder that sometimes the scariest voices come not from beyond the grave — but from the wire itself.

Lettice Galbraith is yet another of those mysterious women of British literature of whom little was recorded.

Lizzie Susan Gibson was born on the 27th January 1859 in Kingston-Upon-Hull in Yorkshire into a comfortable middle-class family.

Her education was primarily private but at fifteen her father died, and life became rather different.

After several years in London, she moved with her mother to Reigate in Surrey.

In 1885 she published her first story anonymously and her pseudonym ‘Lettice Galbraith’ only appeared from late 1892.

Although her canon of works is small, she mainly achieved her reputation on a single volume of ghost and supernatural stories entitled ‘New Ghost Stories’.

After her mother’s death in 1901 she moved to London and continued to write, this time moving on from the short story to the novel, as well as reverting to her given name.

For the last two decades of her life, she did not continue her literary career.

Lettice Galbraith died on 8th July 1932 at Downe, then in Kent. She was 73
