Synopsis

The sequel to The Rune that Binds follows Elise, the young woman who had been betrothed to Jan learns of his death and the fate of his village. Determined to protect her own people from the Beckoning and its creatures, she sets out to learn the secrets of the runes from the enigmatic and secretive Sumisarians. But nothing and no one are what they seem in the Sumisarian order, and with the arrival of a mysterious man, the mysteries and intrigues she's only read about in the histories of Araheath suddenly become a very real and deadly part of Elise's life. And nothing she's learned can prepare her for Tome's darkest secret.
