Synopsis

Is there anything new to say about Robert Burns? John Cairney says it's time to trash Burns the Brand and come on the trail of the real Robert Burns. He is the best of travelling companions on the convivial, entertaining journey to the heart of the Burns story.
Alloway – Burns' birthplace. Tam O' Shanter draws on the Alloway Kirk witch stories first heard by Burns in his childhood
Mossgiel – Between 1784 and 1786 in a phenomenal burst out of creativity, Burns wrote some of his most memorable poems including 'Holy Willie's Prayer' and 'To a Mouse'
Kilmarnock – The famous Kilmarnock edition of Poems Chiefly in the Scottish Dialect published in 1786
Edinburgh – Fame and Clarinda (among others) embraced him.
Dumfries – Burns died at the age of 37. The trail ends at the Burns Mausoleum in St Michael's Church graveyard.
Internationally known as 'the face of Robert Burns', John Cairney believes that the traditional Burns tourist trail urgently needs to find a new direction. In an acting career spanning 40 years, he has often lived and breathed Robert Burns on stage. On the Trail of Robert Burns shows just how well he has got under the skin of Burns' character. This fascinating journey around Scotland is a rediscovery of Scotland's national bard as a flesh and blood genius.

Bill Rush's exceptional journey continues to encourage and inspire all who aspire to live fully and contribute to society. Bill lived with a significant disability of quadriplegic cerebral palsy. He did not have use of his arms, hands or voice. Society’s prejudices proved to be a greater obstacle than his disability in attaining his first life’s goal of completing college. William (Bill) L. Rush chronicled his extraordinary life from childhood until graduation from the University of Nebraska —Lincoln in Journey Out of Silence, first published in 1986. This second edition brings back into print Bill's original chronicle of his personal "Journey Out of Silence." It also contains an introduction to Our Life Our Way, the sequel.

From a young age, Layla Salek has experienced some people as colors—her mother brown, her father green, her husband rainbow. As she notes, sometimes, when words fail, colors speak.

Chaos in Color is the captivating story of Layla’s journey from childhood to adulthood with a mother who suffered from untreated bipolar disorder. Each chapter paints a vivid, heartbreaking picture of the abuse, neglect, and trauma that she experienced as she grew up at the mercy of her mother’s bipolar swings, an incompetent mental health system, and the strangers with whom she was often left. But dissipating those times of darkness were moments of love, joy, and happiness that she felt while being cared for by others in her life. These moments inspired her to start her own family, complete a doctorate in psychology, and work with children with mental illness and severe behavior disorders.

Layla’s story traces how personal and familial trauma is carried into adulthood and how it can be released through forgiveness. This honest, provocative memoir offers a relatable account for others who have experienced similar trauma, as well as hope for healing and a future full of light.

Graeme Edge was born on 30th March 1941 in Rochester, Staffordshire. His mother was a pianist for the silent movies and his father, grandfather and great-grandfather were all music-hall singers.Edge trained as a draughtsman but soon went into music full time. He never started out to be a drummer, he was, in fact the manager of a group called the Blue Rhythm Band. Graeme always watched the drummer in the group and fooled around on the drums, but never really drummed professionally until that drummer quit and he had to fill in. He then bought his first drum kit.The first band he formed was the Silhouettes followed by The Blue Rhythm Band. He then helped to form Gerry Levene and the Avengers, who recorded a single for Decca, and appeared on TV in "Thank Your Lucky Stars". Following the collapse of this group in April 1964 Edge formed The R & B Preachers, which included Denny Laine and Clint Warwick. When that group disbanded the three of them linked up with Ray Thomas and Mike Pinder to form The M & B 5, which later changed its name to The Moody Blues.

This is a book about my faith journey from a young adult to my senior years. Being a survivor of COVID, I knew the LORD still had a purpose for my life. I listened to the voice in my heart and knew I needed to write this book as an encouragement to others. Events happen in life that can cause us to see ourselves as victims or survivors. I choose using my Faith "hat" to be a survivor; an overcomer in all things. You will read about my 60 day hospital stay and 4 month home health journey and how my identified "hats" brought me through it all. My COVID survival is a miracle from GOD. Identify your "hats" so the road in front of you can be paved; and a way made for you by HIM. May you always be an overcomer. After 40 years of teaching, I started living my retired life in the country home that my husband and I designed together. My faith journey spans several decades and I have worn many "hats" during my life. I have tied them securely and held them in place with my Faith "hat" to face many a trial and tribulation both emotionally and physically. I have experienced divorce 3 times, miscarriage twice, sexual assault, as well as having 2 beautiful children, enjoying relationships with siblings, experiencing grandchildren, and finally a soulmate and loving husband. I have learned to listen to the small voice in my heart and follow the LORD's leading. I am a modern day walking talking miracle.

One Week. Six Murders. Based on a True Story.
On her 21st birthday, Angel Morgan steps out of Juvenile Detention after serving five years for grand theft auto. The next 12 hours will change the course of her life forever.
About to purchase a bus ticket to live on the beaches of Florida, she meets Sam and April. Never having any real friends before, these two offer Angel comfort such as she’s never known before. Little does she suspect their dark path will turn her world upside down.
Soon, she is sitting in prison awaiting sentencing for six murders committed by her new “friends” in the week before Christmas. Then, Dr. Rosie Klein, enters Angel’s life. A court-appointed forensic psychologist, Dr. Klein looks at all the mitigating factors of Angel’s childhood that could influence the Judge in sentencing this young woman, including abuse suffered at the hands of her mother and the men who used her.
Angel takes Dr. Klein on a journey depicting the slayings of six innocent people the week before Christmas and to which Angel becomes guilty by association.
In her 35-year career as a forensic psychologist, Dr. Phyllis Kuehnl-Walters has written this book inspired by this one case she will never forget.
