Synopsis

Two college basketball players on a team bound for the championships carry on an affair after hours. Neither talks about the time they spend in each other's arms. They kid themselves and pretend it's just sex. They think no one else knows.

They're wrong on both accounts. But it isn't until a fellow teammate interferes that they're willing to admit how much they care for each other.

Can Austin learn to love the opposite who attracts him?

Austin Russell doesn't belong at a small school like Glynn Harber. He's meant to be a highflyer in finance, not a book-keeping bursar. Now there's only one renovation project left to budget, it's time he toughened his soft heart and got back to climbing the corporate ladder.

The truth is he'd rather climb Maisie Dymond's father.

That urge doesn't add up—Dom Dymond is his polar opposite—but when a near-miss brings them together, Austin discovers there's more below his laid-back surface, especially as Dom's determined to win the bid for the school's last rebuilding project.

Working in proximity means Austin can't deny that they're opposites who don't only attract, they combust whenever they're close. Telling himself it's only a fling doesn't ring true when Dom opens up about what keeps him in Cornwall. He's there to heal his fractured family, and he wants Austin as part of it.

That openness makes Austin want to share too, but will Dom still feel the same attraction once he knows what drives Austin to keep climbing his ladder?

    Contains mature themes.

Winston Kang and Jared Cahill seem like the perfect couple. When they check-in for their flight to Cambodia, where they're headed to meet the surrogate carrying their baby girl, even the woman at the airline counter recognizes it: "I'm so happy that marriage is legal for you guys," she says.

But while Jared is already planning for their second kid—half white like him, half Korean like Wynn—Wynn isn't ready to give up his dreams of becoming a hip-hop dancer to become "the hostage of a crying, pooping terrorist." So he does what anyone in his position would do: He leaves Jared at the airport.

Wynn sets off on a journey around the globe, trying to figure out what it means to put himself first, from auditioning for Misty Espinoza's comeback tour to organizing a Prince-themed flash mob. Oceans away, Jared starts to panic that no one in his life can talk to Meryl about her period or what it's like to grow up Asian American.

Told in alternating points of view, Pyun's sardonic and addictive must-listen confronts questions of race, identity, and privilege, and facing the question of whether it's ever too late to finally face yourself and grow up.

“I can’t express fully what this book means to me. An honest conversation with my mother was possible because of the truth you shared in yours.” - Reader, Maine
What does it take to overcome deeply embedded family traumas, career-ending betrayals, and failed relationships? What is the personal cost of keeping secrets—and staying in the closet? love—and be loved—as an adult. Through the deaths of loved ones, the fear of discovery, and the budding of a legacy that would come to change lives across the nation, Something Worth Saving tells a story of resilience and self-discovery perfect for anyone who has ever struggled to maintain a flawless facade when inside they were crumbling.

When I walked into the newly reconstructed gym, I expected an hour of straightforward exercise—a quick workout to make up for a lazy session earlier that week. The shiny equipment gleamed under the bright lights, promising efficiency. I stuck to what I knew: bicep curls and tricep dips, not venturing into the rest of the mysterious, state-of-the-art machines right away.
But when it was time to shower, it was a completely different story. I tried the individual shower but the water was freezing cold, I was about to leave stinky as I noticed the big communal shower where men didn't seem to rush. I was nervous at first, but after what I experienced there... I don't think I'll ever use the shower cabin ever again.
