In post war Britiain a new writing style emerged from the bleak times. It was commonly known as "kitchen sink drama". That sounds a little disrespectful now, perhaps, but these stories brought realism and raw emotion to their readers. David Storey's This Sporting Life, set in the industrial north, brilliantly conveys 21-year-old steelworker Arthur Machin's love of his rugby league, his success on the field, and his feelings towards his widowed landlady, as well as his bouts of doubt and anxiety. Stephen McGann perfectly captures the mood and the character in his reading.

Summary of Project Hail Mary. This is not written by Andy Weir. This is a summary of Andy Weir's sci-fi thriller Project Hail Mary, which is about scientific research, evolution, interstellar exploration, and a lone astronaut on a mission to save the world.
With only his crewmates' dead bodies for the company and his memories slowly returning, he must piece together what has happened and complete his interstellar mission to save humanity.
Weir does an excellent job of explaining everything in a way that includes a thorough explanation of the science behind it while remaining very accessible and narratively interesting. In that regard, this book is outstanding.
If you listen to this book, you're bound to learn a few interesting science facts! Here's a good litmus test to see if you're a good fit for this book.

Jane Lapotaire reads one of the greatest of all English novels, a finely etched satire about the scatterbrained Mrs. Bennett whose aim in life is to see her five daughters married. Meet Jane Austen's rich and varied characters: the proud Mr. Darcy; the pompous parson; Mr. Collins, who seeks the most advantageous match for himself; good-humored Mr. Bingley; and, of course the two eldest Bennett daughters, Jane and Elizabeth.
