While Aaden is all about the job and Christian is all about the women, their next case is all about survival.

For fans of C.J. Box, Vince Flynn, and Craig Johnson — a Winter 1977 Wyoming thriller in which two murdered ranch hands, a Shah of Iran, and a snowmobile chase through the Bighorn Mountains are all connected.
Dr. Patrick Flint goes to look at a horse for his wife and comes back with two murder victims, four broken ribs, and a stranded Iranian man named Abraham who is either a snowmobile racer from California or a physician to the Shah of Iran. The two murdered ranch hands knew which one he was. It cost them their lives.
SAVAK — the Iranian secret police — have followed Abraham to Buffalo, Wyoming. They believe he's an American spy. They've already killed two men. Patrick's friend Wes and a cast of local eccentrics are snowmobiling into the mountains for a long-planned backcountry trip, and Abraham needs a way to disappear. The Bighorn Mountains in December are an excellent place for a person to stop existing.
Stag Party is the Patrick Flint series' most geopolitically ambitious entry — a story about the Shah of Iran's hidden illness, Cold War intelligence, and a secret that a Wyoming country doctor stumbles into while trying to help a hitchhiker. It is also the story of Trish missing Ben Jones, Susanne accidentally joining the Johnson County Women's Club, Perry building a snow ramp off the deck into the creek, and a gelding that bucks Patrick off a fence rail before any of the dangerous stuff starts.
Stag Party is the sixth Patrick Flint novel, set in the Buffalo, Wyoming and Bighorn Mountains that author Pamela Fagan Hutchins explored as a girl. The snowmobiles are real. The SAVAK agents are not. The broken ribs come first. Complete series: 9 novels.
A Wyoming country doctor. An Iranian physician fleeing secret police. Two dead ranch hands and a Shah who won't take his medicine. In the Bighorn Mountains in December, everyone has secrets. Complete series: 9 novels.

"A Strange Manuscript Found in a Copper Cylinder" is the most popular of James De Mille's works. It was serialized posthumously in Harper's Weekly, and published in book form by Harper and Brothers of New York City in 1888. This satiric romance is the story of Adam More, a British sailor. Shipwrecked in Antarctica, he stumbles upon a tropical lost world of prehistoric animals, plants, and a cult of death-worshipping primitives. He also finds a highly developed human society which has reversed the values of Victorian society. Wealth is scorned and poverty revered; death and darkness are preferrable to life and light. Rather than accumulating wealth, the natives seek to divest themselves of it as quickly as possible. At the beginning of each year, the government imposes wealth (the burden of "reverse taxation") upon its unfortunate subjects as a form of punishment. A secondary plot about the four yachtsmen who find the manuscript forms a frame for the central narrative. The Voyage of Copley Banks is a short story written by Arthur Conan Doyle first published in the Pearson's Magazine in may 1897. 3rd story of the Captain Sharkey saga.Copley Banks, of Kingston, had been one of the leading sugar merchants of the West Indies. The pirate John Sharkey killed his wife and two children when they were sailing from England. Since then Banks is gathering information to locate Sharkey. Two years after his misfortunes, he decides to prepare the brig Ruffling Harry for a slaving venture to Whydah in Africa. However, the ship is heavily armed like a warship rather than a merchant. And he hires the scum of the port, instead of the usual sailors from the firm. After the departure Copley Banks reveals his plans to the crew. He explains that he chooses the pirate's life. Among the 46 men only 4 decide to return to the port. After a year of piracy Copley Banks becomes as famous as Sharkey. And one day in Cuba they both meet while careening their boats. They become good friends and sunked ships together for a long while. Sharkey knew nothing of the evil that he had done to his new boon companion. One day, in the captain's cabin Banks and Sharkey are alone face to face. Banks tells him the story of his murdered wife and sons and captures Sharkey. He ties him securely around a powder barrel and lit a slow powder line while he leaves the boat. From the shore he sees the boat exploding with all his captain and crew.
