Synopsis

While working in a well-known pharmacy chain, Jeremy Dixon found surprising inspiration. His poems were written on the ends of till rolls and smuggled out in his socks. Anyone who has ever worked in retail will recognise the characters and situations, and the magnificent management absurdities; but Jeremy also bring his perspective as a gay man to bear with witty and wicked results.

New York Times bestselling author J. A. Jance's heartrending collection of poetry and essays recounts a dark chapter of her own life, her first marriage to an alcoholic — a powerful look at the emotional cost of addiction and an inspiring story of courage and triumph in the wake of crushing defeat
Before she found fame as a bestselling mystery author, Judith Jance wrestled with the anguish of being married to an alcoholic. For years she channeled her pain into words, composing the poems in this moving volume, first published in 1984, a year before her debut novel.
In searing and direct language, After the Fire chronicles the collapse of Jance's first marriage under the weight of her husband's addiction — and her own unwitting denial and codependence while she struggled to find herself. "I will not be the price of your redemption," she wrote then. "I will not pay my life to ransom yours."
An intimate, deeply personal look into a wrenching time in Jance's life, After the Fire is a portrait of addiction and its insidious effects on lives and love. It illuminates universal truths about unbearable loss and finding the courage to carry on, and offers inspiration and profound insight into the heart and work of a beloved bestselling author.A HarperAudio production.

This book is the last volume of "Kevin Goes to Japan." Now Yukio, Tomoko, and Yumiko have arrived in London. How could Yumiko talk to Kevin with her honest feeling toward him?
    1. London After 17 Years
    2. Yukio's Yukio's Nostalgic Memories
    3. It Is Like a Moth Flying into the Flame?
    4. Mature Woman
    5. Are You a Hetare?
    6. Jumping Off the Stage in Kiyomizu Temple
    7. Eternal Love
    8. The True Identity of Tomoko the Yandere
    9. Already Being a Domineering Husband?
135 JLPT sample questions and word lists come with the story.
This reading level is almost N1 level because the story goes towards an end, and I wanted to focus on more plots and how the characters feel. Also, the setting is in the UK, which makes word lists longer. Reading my book does not mean that you will be able to speak Japanese fluently, but I believe you will have improved your reading comprehension skills because I made it progressively more difficult from 1 to 4.
The paperback versions will be released soon to check the word lists and practice sample questions for some of you.
I hope you keep learning Japanese through the bilingual novel entitled "Parasite Man," a story about Yukio and Tomoko. (Kevin and Yumiko will be there, but not soon.) Five of Yukio's colleagues weave love stories where they want to be loved. Can they find true love? The first volume will be released in August/September 2022.
Thank you again, and good luck studying Japanese and reading bilingual novels.
