Synopsis

"Medical Risk Management" provides an authoritative exploration of critical decision-making in high-pressure medical environments, where split-second choices can determine patient outcomes. The book uniquely bridges the gap between theoretical understanding and practical application, examining three fundamental aspects: rapid decision-making protocols, systemic risk assessment, and error prevention strategies.Through a combination of real-world case studies and evidence-based research drawn from major medical centers, it offers healthcare professionals a comprehensive framework for optimizing their clinical judgment while minimizing potential risks. The book progresses logically through three major sections, beginning with an analysis of cognitive processes in medical decision-making, including pattern recognition and heuristic thinking. It then advances to practical risk assessment tools and frameworks, culminating in concrete strategies for error prevention and team-based critical care approaches. What sets this work apart is its integration of multiple disciplines, incorporating insights from neuroscience, organizational psychology, and human factors engineering to create a holistic approach to medical risk management. Throughout its pages, healthcare professionals will find actionable protocols and assessment tools that can be readily implemented in various clinical settings. The book's emphasis on balancing standardized protocols with individual clinical judgment makes it particularly valuable for emergency medicine physicians, hospital administrators, and risk management specialists. By connecting cognitive science principles with practical medical applications, it provides an essential roadmap for healthcare professionals seeking to enhance their decision-making capabilities while ensuring optimal patient safety.

Grow old on purpose. This book invites readers to navigate a purposeful path from adulthood to elderhood with choice, curiosity, and courage.

None of us know for sure what will happen as we age. What Richard J. Leider and David A. Shapiro do know, however, is that a purposeful mindset is a fundamental component of a life well-lived. What Do You Want to Be When You Grow Old? invites readers into the experience of two lifelong friends taking on the courageous conversation of aging well with honesty and purpose. In the first half of the book, readers are introduced to a framework for looking back over their lives and examining how they've arrived at the place they have. In the second half, readers are invited to look forward to purposeful aging with courage, compassion, and curiosity.

In their bestseller Repacking Your Bags, Leider and Shapiro defined the good life as "living in the place you belong, with people you love, doing the right work, on purpose." This book argues that aging well can be similarly defined as "aging in the place you belong, with people you love, doing the right 'work,' on purpose."

    Introduction to ADHD in Women
Though ADHD is more commonly diagnosed in boys and men, it affects girls and women as well. A recent study found that girls with ADHD are more likely to have anxiety and mood disorders, as well as problems with social interactions. They are also more likely to have lower self-esteem and problems with body image.
There is still a lot we don't know about how ADHD affects women and girls. In particular, we need more research on how best to treat the unique symptoms that affect them. However, there are some treatments that have been shown to be effective for both genders. One such treatment is mindfulness meditation.Treatment for ADHD in women
While medication may be the most talked about treatment for ADHD, there are other options that can be helpful. Treatment for ADHD in women often includes therapy, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and/or mindfulness meditation. In a landmark study at the UCLA in 2007, 24 adults with ADHD took part in an 8 week programme of regular guided meditations. Participants reported improvements in their anxiety and depressive symptoms along with improvements in ADHD symptoms and in test performance on tasks measuring attention and cognitive inhibition.
My hope is that through regularly listening to the guided meditations in this audiobook, you can also benefit from an improvement in your symptoms.Guided meditation book for ADHD and women
There are 4 meditations in this audiobook, which I hope will help you relax, focus and live a happier life. The topics are selected to be a cross section of relaxation, and mindfulness practice, that, through regular practice and usage, could help you, step by step, manage your ADHD.
