Josiah Flynt Willard (1869-1907) was an American sociologist and author. After several years of experience as a vagrant, he wrote fiction and nonfiction as a kind of expert on tramps and tramping. His further works dealing with the lower and criminal classes include Found Guilty, part of a collection of stories written in collaboration with Francis Walton, an American author and attorney.
When not in the recording studio, Robert Walcott plays base guitar and sings for his folk band, Dreamscapers. In addition to narrating fiction, he enjoys doing commercial voiceovers and deep river flyfishing in eastern Montana.

    "Short Stories" Quentin Drummond Anderson
In a world where reality is curated and truth engineered like algorithms, Quentin Drummond Anderson's "Short Stories" presents narratives blurring perception and deception. Inspired by Dahl and Maugham, these tales explore modern ambition where technology, power, and morality collide with unexpected results.
The ten stories reveal different facets of contemporary society. "The Digital Prophet" follows a tech mogul whose empire of lies collapses, revealing he's been deceived himself. "The Influencer's Shadow" exposes the fabrications beneath a social media star's curated perfection.
Anderson navigates shifting moral landscapes. In "Paper Tigers," rival spies discover their deception game serves larger, unseen powers. "Greenwashed" explores sustainability's dark underbelly, where noble causes mask ulterior motives. "Memory Architects" confronts the ethics of reconstructing—and essentially rewriting—the past.
Power dynamics thread throughout: who wields it, manipulates it, or falls victim. "The Philanthropist" explores high finance's seductive world, while "The Algorithm" wrestles with existential questions. "When Greek Meets Greek" pits two con artists against each other, each believing they've found the perfect mark until their web of lies unravels. "Marriage of Convenience" examines a partnership built on mutual benefit rather than love, where ambition and secrets threaten a calculated arrangement.
Each story forces characters to confront uncomfortable truths: often, the greatest deceptions are those we tell ourselves. Through these intricate narratives, Anderson holds a mirror to contemporary society, reflecting our complicity in the very illusions we condemn.
Prepare to be deceived, astonished, and—most importantly—to question everything you believe you know..

He was educated at the Quaker Bootham School in Yorkshire and Leighton Park School in Reading before university at Balliol College, Oxford.
His health was fragile and he poured his energies into writing short stories and in 1910 published his first collection ‘Midnight House’.

Three years later he published his second collection which contained his macabre classic ‘The Beast with Five fingers’, only one more collection would come from his pen in his lifetime.
For many years of his life he now lived in Switzerland with his wife but a yearning to be home saw them come back to England in 1935.
W F Harvey died in Letchworth on the 4th June 1937. He was 52.

'I couldn't sleep that night; our conversation was like a trapped bird flying around inside my head. The next morning, I texted to say I wouldn't be coming back. I lied about having to return to my country to nurse a sick relative. I couldn't bear to see my story mirrored in his eyes, and to see what we never had. I knew he'd understand.'
Women and Love is a thought-provoking collection of seventeen tightly woven tales about the power of love, all its trials and complications, and the shattered lives it can leave in its wake.
The stories explore a huge variety of sorts of love surrounding women in wildly differing settings, and features an unforgettable cast including GPs, burglars, inmates, emigrant cleaners, carers, young professionals, and many more. Navigating heavy themes, with a particular focus on LGBTQ+ experiences, including gender dysphoria and searching for a sperm donor, the stories leave the reader burning with indignation, full of empathy and wonder.
