Beschreibung

Grady Tremone, keyboard player and backup singer for Hail The Dead Marys, feels like something is missing in his life. While trying to figure out what that could be, his mom asks for help with an upcoming show. Grady agrees, and on the day of rehearsal, he comes face to face with the man for whom he's in instant lust.
Tim Hugo, the show's choreographer, likes to flirt but wants more than a casual fling. Grady pushes the issue, and Tim shoots him down, cold. However, after sending white roses every day for a week as an apology, Grady convinces Tim to give them another go -- at Tim's pace, this time.
It takes a month, but when the men finally become intimate, Grady is convinced he'll eventually walk down the aisle with Tim, the man who has the keys to his heart.

However, while there's more to deal with back on Terra, Andy is told the court martial has been postponed and is given leave. What no one realizes is Andy has a second sense, and when it starts alerting him something is seriously wrong, he returns to Base. Sure enough, Pettigrew's court martial has never been delayed and is scheduled to begin the next day. Andy has some cards up his sleeve, though, and the phantom agency behind the entire disaster is foiled.
Andy and the man he calls Best continue their military careers, but with the holidays fast approaching, will the one thing Andy wants most -- to be home for Christmas with his family and the man he loves -- be what he gets?

Karen Solt, an eighteen-year-old nonconformist with an alcohol problem, is working at a gas station when a slick Navy recruiter railroads her into enlisting in the military. Before she knows it, she is on a ship in the Deep South, struggling to navigate not only a world much different from her small Northern Arizona hometown but also her new discovery: she’s gay.
Figuring out her sexuality clarifies many things, but also creates a daunting new set of problems, for Karen. It’s 1984: being gay in the Navy is considered a crime, and gay Sailors are regularly hunted by the Navy Criminal Investigative Service. Discovery means being kicked out, and by this point she is committed to the uniform (and to remaining with her first girlfriend, who is also enlisted). So she learns to hide her secret and find a way to serve—and even thrive professionally—without getting caught. But concealing her truth ultimately leads to devastating consequences.
A story of desire, addiction, the damage of secrets, the power of community, and the soul-crushing cost of turning people into “others,” Hiding for my Life is a celebration of the resilience of the human spirit—and a poignant call for each of us to come out from hiding and live our truth.

Overthinking simple actions leads to overwhelming poems about what one can lean on if promised help doesn’t help
I Will Get Up Off Of is a book about trying to leave a chair. How does anyone ever leave a chair? There are so many muscles involved – so many tarot cards, coats, meds, McNuggets, and memes. In this book, poems are attempts and failures at movement as the speaker navigates her anxiety and depression in whatever way she can, looking for hope from social workers on Zoom, wellness influencers, and psychics alike. Eventually, the poems explode in frustration, splintering into various art forms as attempts at expression become more and more desperate. What is there to lean on when avenues promising help don’t help? Bell may want to #talk but does it want to listen? I Will Get Up Off Of explores the role art plays in survival and the hope that underlies every creative impulse.
"The voice of these poems moves like a magical fish trapped in a small square bowl, dazzlingly alive inside an almost annihilating constriction. These poems play a serious game in a tight space, caught in the looping limbo between intention — 'I will…' 'I will…', 'I will…'— and action. Simina Banu’s skill and humour animate every line and gesture within this inventive drama that begins '(I will get up off of) this monobloc but I’ve been sentenced…' Sentenced to form and to language, Banu gives us a mind thinking its way toward freedom." – Damian Rogers, author of Dear Leader

Jake Patt, bar manager of Smooth, is looking for the guy of his dreams this steamy-hot July, minus the local drunks and bad boys. So far he hasn't had much luck. Maybe Pittsburgh just is too small and he needs to think bigger.
To Jake's surprise, a handsome man walks into Smooth. Doing his job, Jake serves him his beer and learns his name and what he does for a living: Kailin Boost, a visiting bridge inspector. The two hit off well and spend the evening together.
Kailin is worth some good laughs and has a lot of charm, and there's nothing at all boring about the man. Before Jake realizes it, the bridge inspector spends more evenings at the bar, and Jake feels he might just have gained a boyfriend. When Kailin invites him to a Fourth of July party, fireworks begin to happen and he starts falling for Kailin.
With good things come the bad -- at least this is what Jake has learned in life. Enter Kailin's problematic baggage, Michael Benz. Michael's a world-traveling model with lots of muscle and money and a hardcore case of lust for Kailin. Which man will end up with Kailin, the average guy running a gay bar or a good-looking model with loads of money?
